The grandmother of the octuplets shows off her chaotic house and says her daughter had no business having eight more kids.
Angela Suleman is caring for the six older children while her daughter is hospitalized after giving birth January 26 to the octuplets ... and says her home is overrun as it is.
"She already has six beautiful children, why would she do this?" Angela Suleman said in the videotaped interview with celebrity news website RadarOnline.com. "I'm struggling to look after her six. We had to put in bunk beds, feed them in shifts and there's children's clothing piled all over the house."

Heaps of clothing pour from an open closet door and a carpeted bedroom, where a bedsheet serves as a curtain, is cluttered with cribs. Radar's reporter called the home "filthy."
Nadya Suleman's publicist Mike Furtney said that his client has been away for nearly two months, so shouldn't be held responsible for the home's current condition.
Furtney said his client planned to move into a larger home once the octuplets were healthy enough to leave doctors' care.
He declined to comment on any of the remarks Angela Suleman made about her daughter in the interview.
"Those are very personal issues between a mother and a daughter," he said.

Isn’t it nice that this woman lives with her mother, and her mom is on national tv trashing her? If her mother has issues with her, she should take it up with her in private. Her mother is a disgrace.

I think the mother should’ve been responsible enough to know that having so many children would be difficult. I heard her on TV say that she had some sort of settlement money, and that she was going to get her degree and take care of them herself (financially). She also said that she had previously suffered from depression. When she said that it got me thinking that she probably wasn’t a good candidate for mulitple births. She also said that the babies all had the same dad. Was she deliberately getting back at the guy? lots of unaswered questions here. Finally, looking at the grandma, I’m thinking that the apple may not fall to far from the tree!
Where is CPS in this situation…oh yeah they’re going after the family down the street that is working two jobs and taking the kids awaybecause of that bruise they got from day care…after all why would they go after a legitimate case?

She would have to bring in 2 million a year to take care of those children, look she didn’t have time before to go to school (with 6 kids) do you really think she will now…
School, my butt, this gal is living off the system. She fell at work years ago- and got a seattlement, but I beleive that settlement wasn’t in the 100’s of thousands… I think it was 200 thosand.
My gosh what filth. I have five children and my house is no where near that disgusting. CPS should not allow this Mom to take these babies home. How is she going to move to a bigger house, she has no friggin job?
There needs to be some serious laws put into play on fertility drugs. I believe in small government, but obviously this mother couldn’t regulate herself. Don’t you have to have a job or be in a commited relationship to have in vetro fertilization?…apparently not. It is selfish reason to have children, for yourself. Forget the fact that she has no job…move into an ‘bigger house’…sure…with no job.
I feel bad being this negative, its not necessarily the grandmother’s fault, the mother is her own woman now…geesh she is 30-something.
Like 98% of us don’t have a ‘perfect’ childhood. The mother of these children needs to grow up.
Who’s going to be paying for the children now? The state, the government, the people. Very unfair.
It amazes me that some of you blame the grandmother for her daughter having these babies “apple don’t fall far from the tree” is incorrect because she octuplet mom is an ONLY child. She DOES have a degree as of now. I am sure there are many divorced Moms having a hard time and had a husband whom they thought would not leave. The depression she suffered from before could have been from Post-partum. Some of you should not be so quick to judge. CPS CANNOT come and take children because others think she had too many at one time(which I believe she did). It’s NOT the childrens fault so why not help the mother out(donations) because they still have to live.
I really hope that this woman realizes the majority’s opinion of her. She should be so embarrassed of this. It is rediculous that any doctor thought this might be a good idea. This is child abuse. Most of her kids will never get the attention they need to be happy kids. She is looking for hand outs and is makes me sick. She did not recieve a settlement, it was workers comp for an injury at work. Tax payers money. We all paid for her to abuse kids. This is repulsive to me.
This sounds like the mother of the octuplets fault too- my parents raised two children, my brother and myself. I have graduated college as a medical transcriptionist, living with a wonderful man and we will be married when he graduates as an industrial engineer.
My brother is in rehab and is 22, Finally got his ged, and has always stolen and fought and lied his way out of our house.
My parents didn’t raise him to be so selfish and cruel to others. They raised him to have the same values as I.
This woman is nuts. Her mother has had enough, and for you who say she could have CONTROLLED her daughter into not having more kids, well, you are ignorant of the fact that her daughter was grown. She didn’t want to kick her daughter out of the house because of those kids. Hope someone steps in and takes care of things. Grandma has a big heart.
Women like this have as many kids as they want because they know the government will help them. I bet that if they put a limit on how many kids medicaid and food stamps covered the birth rate would take a huge drop.
I agree with you Vanessa. She is selfish, she’s looking for love and thinks she can get it from all these kids. What about these kids where are they going to get the love from. She could’nt take care of the first seven by her self how is she gonna take care of 14?? And for Tamie open your purse and help her, It’s not the people’s fault she can not afford all the children she choose to have. And I’ll be dammed in this economy to help her more then my taxes are doing all ready.
Reminds me kinda of a big family like the Waltons on tv. Of course they were based on the real Hamner family. People long ago use to have a large family. I suggest the mother of the children get a bigger house and marry her boyfriend who is also the father of all the children. Good luck Ms. Suleman.
I find it odd that she couldn’t work and collected disability for a bad back, but at the same time she had her first 6 kids. Give me a break. This lady has some sort of agenda and any media outlet that pays her to tell her story is only contributing to her insanity. I hope her plan backfires and all 14 kids are taken away, from the sounds of it, she certainly shouldn’t be allowed to care for them, not if she is as nuts as she seems to be.
Someone earlier referred to this woman’s children as her “brood”. Disgusting. The children are not dogs, okay. Anyway, just reading these comments really shows me what contempt the readers on this site have for Suleman. My question is would it have been better if this lady had 18 kids, a husband, an extreme religious fundamentalist view, and a show on TLC?? Would your comments not be so harsh, cruel, stereotypical if that were the case?
I have never payed taxes to support that family on TLC. They also have a clean home and a strong family support system. If you are going to have a ton of kids they at least do it well. I bet this woman just wants her 15 minutes of fame. I will be praying for her children, they cannot help the selfishness of their only legal parent. Shame on you Miss Suleman!!!
You know the reason this woman keeps having children is because her mother keeps enabling her. If her mom had kicked her out on the street and said “find your own way to take care of yourself” this crazy girl would have thought twice about having more children. If mommy is there to help you, why not have 8 more.
I for one am not going to donate anything to the mother of these babies. She made her choices when she decided to have 14 children, without a partner or a job to support them. I certainly hope she finds a legitimate way to support her family, but I have a feeling the taxpayers will be paying for them eventually.
at least the family on tlc IS a family & can take care of themselves, unlike the lady with NO JOB whose big plan is apparently to rely on others for support. how in the world is she going to take care of these children with NO JOB?! and how is she planning on moving into a bigger house? did she find someone else to support her now that she has run her mother to her limit? how in the world did she get approved for ANY in vitro, let alone the second round?!? how did she get approved with a history of depression? how is she receiving disability from work yet seems perfectly capable of having multiple children? i’m sick to death of women who continue to reproduce with no visible means of support. this infuriates me. this woman is totally selfish, and now the children will be the ones who suffer. oh, and the taxpayers in an already broke state will get to foot the bill for it all. do you know how expensive it is to have one baby, let alone 8?!
‘kay, its nice that the grandma has all this to say NOW.. but it seems like she has been enabling her daughter — is it possible she could have prevented this beforehand?????
