Police arrested a Georgia couple who allegedly kept their 11-year-old daughter out of school for over a year.

Tiffini Green and her husband, Kelvin Lovett, withdrew their daughter from school in 2007 and never re-enrolled her.

Authorities say the parents now face hundreds of counts of educational neglect.

"This is not about the parents. This is about the child," said Solicitor General Robert James.

Green initially said that she withdrew her child because she was homeless. She also told police that the girl was homeschooled, although she never filed any intent through a school.

The parents will be appearing in court on Friday.
