"Real" Housewife Sues Keith Sweat for Custody

"Real Housewives of Atlanta" star Lisa Wu Hartwell has filed suit asking a judge to grant her custody of her two sons with ex-husband R&B singer Keith Sweat, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

In papers filed last Thursday in a Fulton County, Georgia court, Hartwell claims the best interests of her children will be met by having them reside with her, adding that since her divorce from the popular singer she has "remarried, owns a successful business and will provide a stable, loving, and nurturing environment in which she can raise the minor children." She is seeking primary physical custody and joint legal custody of the couple's two sons 14-year-old Jordan Sweat and 11-year-old Justin Sweat.
She is now married to former NFL player Ed Hartwell.
In 2003, the singer was granted primary custody of the children. The couple, who were married in 1992, had what a judge called at the time an "extremely tumultuous relationship," adding "there is evidence that Father has been violent towards Mother, but no evidence he has ever been violent with any of his children."
The judge also slammed Hartwell, saying in the documents, "Mother has a history of spending money on herself excessively rather than providing for the children ... This behavior causes the Court to question Mother's maturity and judgment."
Sweat refused to give permission for the children to appear -- or to even be mentioned -- on Bravo's show. Sweat himself is also never mentioned by name on the show.
If granted custody, she has also requested child support from Sweat.
I agreed with Mr Sweat - the children should not be show just because a parent wants to be in one.
Further, I’ve read that several years AFTER her divocre, Lisa Wu field for bankruptcy and she did it again recently. Further is is no evidence mentioned that the fahter isn’t providing “a stable, loving, and nurturing environment” .
I think if the kids are happy and healthy living with their father, why take them away from that? So you can seem like a “good mommy” in front the of the cameras and to clients? Using the fact that you married a man with money, making you a more adequate parent is pathetic. Its hard enough to find real men out there willing to step up to the plate and be good fathers.
I can testify that you will be an expert at your field! I would be launching a website very soon, and your material will likely be quite useable for me. Many thanks for all your assist and wishing you all of the achievement inside your business enterprise.

primary physical custody? she’s nuts. the kids should stay with their dad, with reasonable visitation for her. i’m sick of moms who think that just because “i’m the mommy” that gives them special rights over dad.
