Chris Brown OFF Kids' Choice Awards Ballot

Embattled singer Chris Brown, who is currently facing multiple felony charges for allegedly assaulting girlfriend Rihanna, has WITHDRAWN his name from consideration for the Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards.

A statement, issued this morning through his reps, says "Chris very much appreciates the support of his fans and the honor they have paid him in the way of nominations for Favorite Male Singer and Favorite Song. Unfortunately, the controversy surrounding the incident last month has shifted the focus from the music to whether he should be allowed to be among those nominated. While Chris would like to speak to his fans directly about this and other issues, pending legal proceedings preclude his doing so at this time. Once the matter before him has been resolved, he intends to do so."

The charges stem from an incident that occurred the night before the Grammys. According to charging papers, Rihanna, 21, read a text message from a woman on Brown's phone, which led to an argument. Brown then allegedly tried to force his girlfriend out of the Lamborghini, hit her head against the passenger window and then punched the singer while still driving. In addition he told her, "I'm going to beat the ---- out of you when we get home."

For their part, Nickelodeon released a statement saying "We agree with and respect his decision. [We] are looking forward to presenting a great event for our audience."

Well, I’m glad he’s no longer on the ballot, but it should have been Nickelodeon that axed him. That network sucks. I refuse to support them or anything affiliated with them.

About time…he should not be idolized in any way…he needs help and time away from the public so he can come to terms with what he has done

I’m glad he will not be involved with the kid choice awards but I think Nick should have terminated his nomination. I will no longer support anything involving the Nick network! It’s outrages that they didn’t act on this!

How old are you ANONYMOUS? IF you’re an adult, you need to go back to school and learn some grammar and spelling. Oh, and stop defending this woman-beater. There is never any justification for laying hands on a woman, EVER. You may have to look up some of the words here, but it would be worth your while….

Men who beat women are weak individuals and should NOT BE FORGIVIN! Nickelodeon should of axed him for this! A better example needed to be set for a punk like him.

To GIVE ME A BREAK: Are you seriously saying she DESERVED the beating she got from this punk? What planet are you from? And as to your question of how old am I—that’s pretty irrelevant, since my ten year old has better spelling and grammar than you and “anonymous”, who I suspect are the same person. Please go back to school, get an education, and get some counseling about abusive relationships. I strongly suspect that you’ll be a victim of one, if you aren’t already.
