Why not still have “classic Dora” for the younger kids and “tween dora” for older kids? Nickelodeon would certainly would not be the first company to do that. It would not offend people that love the original but may attract new viewers / customers to have something targeted at older kids.
My 6 year old still loves Dora and she is about to turn 7. My other daughter did outgrow her by then but I guess it depends on the kid.

my kid grew out of her the dora aged girls are now getting older therefore they are trying to appeal to that growing age of child its called advertisment bc the are trying to compete with Hannah Monatana and now my 4 yr old is a fan of her, so this could be a good thing she’ll watch a big girl dora rather than a “baby”

Just because Dora grew up a bit does not make her a trampy role model for your child. She is still responsible and loving and able to teach your child spanish. The simple fact is that kids respect other kids based on age- a four year old leading children through a televised forest will have less of an audience than a tween doing the same thing. Kids just admire tweens and teens based on their experiences. Moreover, that Photoshopped image is rude and disrespectful, the exact opposite of the behavior that we want our children to learn. By the way, I am seventeen and will be graduating high school this year- and will be going to college to study education. Don’t assume I’ll get pregnant just because I’m underage- more bad role modeling.
