Associated Press: The state Senate has voted unanimously to ban tattooing of the eyeball.

Sen. Cliff Brannan, an Oklahoma City Republican, said scleral tattooing is a dangerous fad that can cause damage to the eye or even blindness.

He said concerned ophthalmologists brought the public health issue to his attention.

Senate Bill 844 will next be considered in the House.
