Billy Ray Cyrus Reprimands Jamie Foxx

He opens up to Bonnie Hunt on her show today.
Don't mess with Billy Ray's daughter! Jamie Foxx said some not-so-nice things about Miley Cyrus earlier this week. And on today's "Bonnie Hunt Show," Billy Ray Cyrus expresses his displeasure. Check out the video.
Tune into "The Bonnie Hunt Show" today for more!
What would you do if he said these things about YOUR daughter? Comment in the momlogic community.
Foxx’s comments were akin to the comments made by Imus. The only difference is that Imus was making his “joke” about adults and Foxx made his “joke” about a child, which makes what he did MUCH WORSE! I’m glad that he apologized but as a father he should have known better than to make those comments about a young girl. Even in jest there is no excuse for his behavior. I’m happy to see Billy Rae Cyrus make such a classy statement against the completely inappropriate comments made by Foxx. Cyrus is clearly a classy guy.
There was NOTHING race-oriented about Jamie’s jokes…. Let’s not turn this into something it’s not…
Um, yes there was D…he called her a white bit**! HE brought race into it…I’d like to know why some African Americans think it’s okay to use race against others, but others cannot use race against them. Can you imagine the outcry if us white people had a magazine called “White Essence” and it was a magazine for WHITE people only? Why is it okay to have black magazines and latino magazines, but if the tables were turned, it would be considered racist. so stupid
Totally off the Jamie Foxx story but I TOTALLY agree with you, anonymous @ 2:20AM.. I am not a racist by ANY means, but we are now the minority and still get critisized for everything that comes out of our mouths. White Christian Americans are getting screwed out of everything.. Can’t celebrate holidays at school so they don’t “offend” anyone else, a white person gets lashed if they say ANYTHING out of line towards a black person, but its OK for a black person to say what ever they want toward a black or a white person
first off, the mag is Essence, not Black Essence. Second, I am white and have purchased the magazine when I saw an article of interest as I do with People or Newsweek or whatever. Third, calling anyone a b—ch is inappropriate and rude and you don’t have to be the dad to say so. Fourth, for the new “minority” of white Christians, you must be kidding. I don’t see the country closing down for Kwanzaa, Passover, Ramadan or any holiday not related to Christian observance. I sure would have enjoyed shopping last Sunday since I had no plans but you know, everything was closed. Fifth, this is a small incident not related to the ills of society, just a reflection on Jamie Foxx, as far as I’m concerned. Not good for him with his new flick starting.
Totally distasteful, especially when you discover that he has a teenage daughter as well. How would he feel if someone said those things to HIS child?
Sounds to me like Foxx needs to grow up! I won’t watch his work anymore, I can watch children pick fights anytime…
bep955 took the words right out of my head…
but to add to the magazine comment, which by the way was completely irrelevant to the actual topic. Magazines are sometimes created to represent a group that feels largely misrepresented or a lack of representation at all. So for Anonymous @2:20 to bring that up is rediculous. Do your homework, most major mags had very little representation of minorities which, from a business perspective, left a large demographic basically untouched. From a customer perspective, left a lot of people feeling like they couldnt relate
as to the topic at hand, I do feel B.R.C had a very classy response and I agree with him in saying if anyone had said these type of things re:Jamie Foxx’s daughter J.F. would not have found them comedic. Its another comedian’s failed and low attempt at a cheap laugh. Will it make me ban J.F. work? Not at all, because then I would have to ban more than half of entertainment seeing as almost every entertainer has said or done something in there life or career-span I don’t agree with or condone
Lets not forget just a few months ago Miley was on the other end of the stick making fun of Asians, but I guess since she a minor its ok(LMAO),while dating a grown man. I say get over it what Jamie doesn’t do the media will.As the old matto say what goes around comes around .
Let’s face it. Jamie messed up. As we’ve already seen, anyone can mess up. It doesn’t matter the ethnic background. What’s more important here is we accept the good in this situation-the civility and real manhood of Billy Ray. And perhaps it points out things Jamie, himself obviously can work on.
This shouldn’t just be about Jamie/Miley. Trust me, I’ve heard all kinds of degrading remarks stated in general, about people. And just because the person commenting wasn’t famous, or the person they commented about wasn’t famous, doesn’t make it right @ all.
There are many individuals who should check their own inner emotions, and hopefully change for the better. Because I’ll bet, some of the same individuals pounding the finger @ Jamie Fox can be just as evil, and mean-spirited, if not worse. And they are likely not even attempting for it to be an act of comedy.
You are right..the hypocrisy of this country stuns me. If a white person had made this comment all hell would have broke loose but when Jamie Foxx says it Oh ok its just Jamie Foxx.
he lets his 15 year old daughter date and live with a 21 year old and he’s upset that someone said something sexual about her? give me a break.
Jamie did NOT call her a white b*tch… another woman on the show did. And wtf? Since when is ESSENCE magazine called BLACK ESSENCE? And - for the record - there are WHITE ESSENCE magazines… They’re called Cosmo and Vogue…

You go Billy Ray…Jamie Foxx was totally out of line! And if the reverse would of happen, Jamie would have been yelling “Racist”
