Once again, the news is reporting the Anthony family is planning a private memorial for Caylee which would include Casey. Who keeps spreading these rumors?
According to a local Florida news station, a source close to the Casey Anthony's family said the "wheels are in motion for that meeting, so the family can mourn Caylee together for a short time." The same kind of rumor was making the rounds back in January. Back then, as it did today, the Orange County Jail issued a statement contradicting the rumor:
"The Orange County Corrections Department has received no requests and has no plans related to any 'in-person family visit' with Casey Marie Anthony. Our agency has no intention of providing any special treatment for inmate Anthony or any inmate in our custody."
Public Information Officer Allen Moore told momlogic: "Since 2003, there have been no face-to-face jailhouse visits -- excluding attorneys." Moore is quick to point out that since the jail switched to video visitation, the amount of illegal items passed to jail inmates has been cut in a half. The Orange County Jail facilitates 1,000 of these video visitations each month. Inmates are allowed three 45-minute visits a week. Most are not recorded -- but in Casey Anthony's case, they are, as requested by law enforcement.
According to Moore, Detective Yuri Melich from the Orange County Sheriff's Office made the original request for a standing order to record all of Casey's visits. "For Casey's visits," explains Moore, "all they do is put a trigger in the visitation software and it automatically records the visits."
Even though the visits would be recorded, the family could see Casey if they really wanted to quite easily. "They could call tonight and schedule a visit for tomorrow," says Moore.
Who do you think keeps spreading the private memorial rumors?
