Diane Mizota: Where's the beef? Is it me, or has "Dancing with the Stars" turned a little, dare I say, boring?

David Alan Grier was eliminated this week after not connecting enough with the audience or his partner, Kym Johnson, and lost the dance-off to Lawrence Taylor. But really the story is, who cares? Who do you root for? Where's the drama? A season that began with such a bang is starting to fizzle ...

Gilles Marini, the shirtless dance wonder is the most skilled contestant, alongside Melissa Rycroft, who is always competent, but they've been frontrunners since the get go. Shawn Johnson is reliably adorable and Lil' Kim is improving week by week. It's a pretty obvious top 4.

Steve-O is still the most interesting contestant, and he does get props for the mime outfit, but even he seems to have lost energy since the kickoff. So what, now we just wait for him, Lawrence Taylor, and Ty Murray to be eliminated? Yawn. I think I have some laundry to fold.

And is it just me, or is Tom Bergeron just getting more and more annoying? Maybe he's bored too and perhaps is just trying to entertain himself with bad jokes. Oy. I think I need a reality tv detox.
