Don't Give Up on Haleigh Cummings

She may not be in the news as often as other missing children, but Haleigh Cummings still needs our attention.

Much has happened in the news since February 9th. One thing, sadly, hasn't. A little girl named Haleigh Cummings has been missing -- last seen, allegedly by her father's girlfriend -- now wife -- Misty Cummings.

According to Lieutenant Johnny Greenwood of the Putman, Florida County Sheriffs Office, the disappearance of Haleigh is still being investigated in full force -- with the same amount of officers originally assigned to the case as there were from day one. But he admits the leads are drying up, saying tips are "trickling in at just one or two a day."

So far none of the leads have panned out and Greenwood would not comment on whether Haleigh's father Ronald Cummings and his new wife are a focus of the investigation. "We have not identified anyone as suspect but we've not ruled anyone out," says Greenwood.

The hope, says Greenwood, is that a tip will come in with just the right piece of the puzzle investigators have been looking for. "Someone knows something, somebody is going to slip up."

If finding Haleigh has eluded investigators, so has her story in the media. Finding new information on the Florida child is scant. "Of the hundreds of thousand children that go missing each year, probably four or five get significant national media attention," Ernie Allen, President of the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, tells momlogic. "It's just another missing kid to the them unless the cases are dramatic and sensational."

Regardless of whether Haleigh makes an appearance on CNN's "Nancy Grace" or not, Greenwood is hopeful Haleigh will be found. "That's what makes these investigators work around the clock," explains Greenwood. "The hope that she is alive and we can bring her back home."

Ron is obviously a snitch and someone found out and took Haleigh for retribution. That is why he reacted initially with “I know who did this and I am going to kill them” but then recanted. I really don’t think this little girl is okay. Once the case hit “big” in the media….too risky to keep her alive. AWFUL. I hope I am wrong.

What upsets me and burns a fire in my heart is the lack of media coverage for this poor child! The psycho of a mother Casey still takes the cake on the media coverage and I am not sure how we can make the media understand enough of about her what about little Haleigh!!! I had not heard anything at all about her and I truly feel for the family that the Anthony case has placed a shadow for this innocent child! Anyone have any ideas on how to turn this thing??

It seemed to me it was sudden break from Nancy Grace…She was covering it for quite a while, then suddenly, nothing….I think something happened to make her stop, i’m not sure what, but it is just strange that she stopped so suddenly….and i’m also SO SICK of tot mom, execute her and get it over with then maybe Nancy Grace can focus on potentially alive missing children….Let little kaylie rest.

I am very disapointed that there is nothing on the news about this precious little girl the Anthony case is every where It is very sad about Caylee but, they know where she is now an Haleigh is still missing and this beautiful little girl needs everyones help to find her that is our responsibilty being children of God!!
