Ronda Kaysen: If you're still suffering from Election 2008 withdrawals, your next fix is almost here. HBO optioned "Game Change: Obama and the Clintons, McCain and Palin, and the Race of a Lifetime," based on a book that hasn't even been written yet.

Obama, Biden, McCain, Palin

Political writers Mark Halperin and John Heilemann are at work on the tome, which will be published by Harper Collins, and HBO wants to make the movie, Variety reports.

For all you political junkies hungry to relive the drama of '08, this is your chance. The book and movie won't just rehash the ins and outs of how Obama won. The authors promise there won't be endless digressions about super delegates or ill-timed financial meltdowns. Instead, this is going to be a story about the characters of the election. After all, the characters were the best part. Who can forget Loose Cannon Bill or Sarah Palin going rogue? There were $150,000 shopping sprees to be had and game-changing tears in New Hampshire. And then there was John McCain's odd debate antics and No Drama Obama.

"It's funny to call Obama and Hillary characters, but that's how I have to look at them," said Charles Leavitt, who'll adapt the book for TV.

Sarah Palin already has her doppelganger waiting in the wings, the hilarious Tina Fey. The question now is, who will play Hillary? I vote for Meryl Streep.

We know all we need to know about “these characters”. To me it would only remind me of the disgraceful options we were given to vote for. What I would be interested in is a book or even a movie on the unknown candidates: all the write-in candidates that ran in this election but whose campaigns were censored and choked by the Republican and Democratic Parties. I know if the American people knew the truth about the election tampering that went on, I don’t think people would stand for it.
