Ronda Kaysen: If you're still suffering from Election 2008 withdrawals, your next fix is almost here. HBO optioned "Game Change: Obama and the Clintons, McCain and Palin, and the Race of a Lifetime," based on a book that hasn't even been written yet.
For all you political junkies hungry to relive the drama of '08, this is your chance. The book and movie won't just rehash the ins and outs of how Obama won. The authors promise there won't be endless digressions about super delegates or ill-timed financial meltdowns. Instead, this is going to be a story about the characters of the election. After all, the characters were the best part. Who can forget Loose Cannon Bill or Sarah Palin going rogue? There were $150,000 shopping sprees to be had and game-changing tears in New Hampshire. And then there was John McCain's odd debate antics and No Drama Obama.
"It's funny to call Obama and Hillary characters, but that's how I have to look at them," said Charles Leavitt, who'll adapt the book for TV.
