No Bankroll? Try Bartering!

More and more moms are doing it.
Our Moms and the Recession survey found that 64% of moms are spending more time feeling intensely negative emotions (e.g., arguing with others, crying, worrying about the state of the world, worrying about their family's future, worrying about paying bills). In short, moms (us included) are feeling the weight of the world on our shoulders. How do we continue to provide for our families when many of our household incomes have been cut in half?
This week, we've brought you our Recession Survival Guide to help lighten your load. By using some inventive strategies, we can survive this recession together, and come out stronger on the other side.
More and more moms all over the country are trying bartering. We love the idea of trading services and goods, and scoring things for no cash. Here are a few mom-favorite bartering sites we've found:
Babysitterexchange.com: Swap babysitting hours with people in your community
Barterplanet.com: Features everything from legal services to power tools
Bizexchange.com: Major business-to-business trading network
Care.com: Nanny and senior-care services
Swapstyle.com: Clothing and accessories
Swapthing.com: Home furnishings, jewelry
Swaptree.com: Music, movies, books, and video games
U-Exchange.com: Cleaning and other services
Zwaggle.com: Kids stuff
We're also huge fans of Freecycle, a site that lists tons of stuff people are giving away for FREE. ('Cause we can afford free!)
Do you barter? Tell us about it!
I use www.barterquest.com I use it for kids clothing a lot. But you can also trade services and real estate for free. What I like about the site is they give me instant match, which saves great deal of my time.
