NY Daily News: A prominent Park Ave. lawyer who booted her bickering kids out of her car - then drove off without them - will not face charges of child endangerment.
White Plains City Court Judge Eric Press adjourned the case against mom Madlyn Primoff today, saying he will dismiss the charge if she stays out of trouble for six months.
"Clearly I made a mistake," Primoff said after her court appearance.
The Scarsdale mom was arrested April 19 after a passerby found her 10-year-old daughter in tears on a White Plains street.
The 45-year-old, a partner at white-shoe firm Kaye Scholer, apparently couldn't bear any more squabbling between her 10- and 12-year-old daughters, so she kicked them out of the family car, police said.
Primoff's lawyer said she drove around the block expecting to pick them up but couldn't find them.
She soon found her 12-year-old daughter. But the younger girl wandered around the corner where a good Samaritan spotted her in tears, bought her ice cream and then approached a cop in a patrol car.
The officer described the girl as "very upset" and "emotional" in the police report.
Primoff reported the girl missing to Scarsdale police, who contacted White Plains cops and were told the girl was out of harm's way.
She was arrested when the family arrived at headquarters to pick up the child.

If this was a low income mother or middle class mother - DYS would have b een called in once the abandoned child was brought to the police. No mention of their involvemnt at all. And you bet the most lenient senctnec they would have gotten, was anger management classes, parenting classes and two years probation. Higher income and better education does n ot guarantee good parenting - just good connections for lighter sentences.
