Sex Offender Hosts "Hot for Teacher" Night

Mary Kay Letourneau is either really stupid ... or insanely smart. In any event, she's capitalizing on her 15 minutes (and seven years in jail) by hosting a "Hot for Teacher" night at a Seattle bar. Nice.

Letourneau, who served time in the 90s for raping her then student Vili Fualaau, will do it up right at some joint called the Fuel Sports Eats and Beats this Saturday.

Letourneau met Fualaau when he was in second grade and began their affair when he was 12 and she was a 34-year-old married mother of four. They were married in 2005 and have two daughters together.

Bar owner Mike Morris says 47-year-old Letourneau has served her sentence and it's OK for the couple to have some fun.

This is apparently the third "Hot for Teacher" event they've done. She greets people and he DJs. Is there a special on pitchers of beer??

Let her have her fun, she married the kid. Although i’m pretty sure he isn’t the most psychologically stable person, but neither is she.

Yes, it’s just fine, the event is for consenting adults only and she’s paid her debt to society.

It’s only pedophilia if it’s an older man doing it to a young girl or if the older woman is really, really ugly. Does anyone think that society would allow a man to marry a young girl he formerly molested while he was a school teacher? Does anyone think they would allow this type of “Hot for Teacher” glorification if the genders were reversed here?

I agree, that is absolutely ridiculous. Like a lot of things in our society there is double sandar which is just completely unacceptable. The only difference I care to note is when it is an older man and a younger girl she gets pregnant, which I think makes a tiny difference in terms of consequences for the child, but not for morality issues. Whereas when it is an older woman and a younger boy she gets pregnant and he gets therapy but no child to bear. The difference is worth noting. In terms of morality there is no difference obviously they are equally as sick, mena nd women who prey on children.

Get over it. This story is old, and I live in WA state. They are seen around sometimes with the kids in tow, and no one here makes any deal out of it. She paid her debt to society and that should be enough. She is not a pedophile, considering her former child victim and her are now married. It is what it is. It could of been worse so why do you have to make a big deal out of this? I think it’s a smart move on her part to host this. Who knows how it will turn out. Got anything else you can write about that is even remotely interesting?

DoubleStandard, learn to spell!! BTW, Roman Polanski is not married and if he was married to one of his former child lovers, and paid his debt to society, than yes, I would be fine with him hosting it. Only because he wouldn’t do it. It does look worse when a man is the one who pursues it. Double standard? Maybe, but I doubt it.

What kind of message are these people sending to their children? Regardless of the fact that Letourneau may have served her time, she is clearly showing her that she has no ability to make good decisions. Yes, it may be a consensual event for adults. But what about the message it sends to society? What about learning anything from her sentence and counseling? Imagine the decisions she makes when no one is watching when this is a choice that she makes for us all to see. However, equally has culpable is the disgusting club that would allow this to happen.

Perhaps they should have invited Tammy Lee Gibson to the event. Should could have brought the same bat she decked her sex offender neighbor with. Isn’t she just down the road in Tacoma?

In an odd twisted way that isn’t really explainable, these two really do seem to love eachother. He visited her every week for seven years while she was in prison for raping him when she got out of prision they got married and have since had a second child. She obviosly should have waited until he was an adult to have a relationship with him though. As far as the bar I don’t think they should be “promoting” her.
