Kick Butt New Recipe Site!

There are so many recipe websites out there -- sometimes it's overwhelming! But trust us -- this one, you'll love.

Lynn Comer: Cookstr.com is a standout new website featuring delicious and easy gourmet recipes for any budget, cuisine, or occasion -- all from top chefs. And the site's best feature?? The search options! My faves are Easy, Seasonal, Inexpensive, and Kid-Friendly.

Easy is great, because, well, they are just so simple, but so tasty. Check out James Beard award-winning chef Jerry Traunfeld's recipe for Roasted Cauliflower with Apple and Dill, or the Grilled Lemony Chicken with Asparagus from Leslie Revsin, the first female chef at the Waldorf Astoria.

Seasonal features what's fresh and flavorful from the farmer's market. Spring highlights some delectable recipes: Mario Batali's Asparagus with Citrus, Parsley, and Garlic or the summertime version of the Classic Grilled Cheese sandwich from Nancy Silverton.

Kid-Friendly -- your kids will love it and if you have the patience, the kids will love to help make it, too! It's an easy way to introduce your kids to gourmet foods. Check out the kid-friendly asparagus and ham crepe (omit ham for the vegetarians), finishing it off with strawberry shortcake or strawberry cheesecake. Yum!

What's so nice is to be able to choose from delicious, gourmet, and good-for-you recipes at an inexpensive price. And for the foodies out there, the website gives info on the chef, their restaurants, and cookbooks they've published (which you can purchase directly from the site). So pick out some great healthy spring meals with your kids and head out to your nearest farmer's market!

Thanks for the recommendation. I’m always looking for new cooking websites that are simple and easy to navigate and offer simple and easy to make recipes. As a busy mom of twins I’m pressed for time so anything that makes my life easier is welcome. BTW I liked the website’s “Surprise me!” button — when I’m hungry I need help making up mind.
