Levi's Mom Torn Apart Over Missing Tripp

Sherry Johnston opens up to momlogic about being a grandma, being in the spotlight, Bristol Palin, and missing her grandson, Tripp.

ML: How did you spend Mother's Day this year?
Sherry Johnston: I spent the morning with my daughter, Mercede. She surprised me with a few gifts and stayed up all night long making a homemade card. My son, Levi, was hunting during the day and he came home and ordered dinner from my favorite restaurant and spent quality time with me. So I got Mercede in the morning and Levi at night.

ML: Did you get to see your grandson, Tripp?
Sherry Johnston: No, I didn't. I sent Bristol a text message and wished her a happy Mother's Day.

ML: As a mother, did you give any parenting advice to Levi? If so, what did you tell him?
Sherry Johnston: Tripp would often spit up as an infant and I gave advice to Bristol and Levi because Levi was the same way as a baby. Now, we don't really get Tripp that often to impart parenting advice. We only see him a few hours a week, but I did get to spend time with him this morning. Because Sarah Palin had her baby son, Trigg, Levi and Bristol were around a newborn and helped take care of him, so when Bristol became pregnant and had Tripp, it seemed both Bristol and Levi felt comfortable with their newborn. It came naturally to them.

ML: As a first-time grandmother, how does it feel to not see your grandson as often as you'd like? How often do you see him?
Sherry Johnston: It tears me apart. Every time I see him he's a different child. Before he wasn't rolling over, now he is. Now he's trying to crawl. I am missing him so much that it tears me up. I am begging to see him.

ML: Since breaking your silence on "The Tyra Banks Show," what is the most important thing you want the public to know?
Sherry Johnston: We broke our silence because the media made it seem like the Palins and Johnstons had a major feud going on, but we didn't. The media twisted words and pretty soon, it seemed like we were at odds when we actually weren't. We just wanted people to know who Levi is and that he's not a bad guy. There were a lot of rumors about our family, and we wanted to clarify them. Everyone knew who the Palins were, and there were nasty things said about us in the media, and we wanted people to know who the Johnstons were. People can think what they want, but we wanted our voices to be heard. That way, they can judge for themselves.

ML: Now that you've told your side of the story, do you think there will be a reconciliation with the Palins?
Sherry Johnston: The press always makes us sound like we're at war. We're not saying that. When Bristol came to pick up Tripp this week, she said if we want him more often, all I have to do is call. She said if I want to come to their house, I can come over and see him all the time. I am hopeful we'll be able to work together to raise Tripp.

For the sake of the child I hope they can learn to work things out so Tripp can be around all of his family throughout his life. But it seems if one thing is going to tear apart this family its going to be the Johnston’s constantly talking to the media about personal family business… and here’s grandma Johnston at it again.

AM: And what about Sarah and her dad constantly quipping that Levi (the baby’s dad - supposedly) is not ‘pulling his weight’, and is unemployed, and that the Palins don’t want the baby in a household where a drug dealer lives? THOSE sayings are OK, because they come from your anointed one?

They all need to stop dragging their dirty laundry to the general public. But Levi and his family have just as mutch right to that baby as Bristol’s family does despite what they might think.

Well… thanks to that fact that he did not complete his GED/HS Diploma Levi is no longer working in what could have been a very lucrative career. And if he is still unemployed and not contributing (money/time) then he is NOT pulling his weight! And honestly F.U. would you want your child in a home where drug dealing was going on??? I would hope not. Furthermore the times that the Palins have spoken to the media about this topic have been in response to what the Johnston’s have said. So YES I stand by what I said, the JOHNSTONS need to quit talking to the media….they are not public figures and therefore should keep their comments and complaints PRIVATE!! If they are having problems with the amount of time that they’re allowed to spend with the baby then they should talk directly to the Palins and see about working something out and if they can’t work something out then they should hire a lawyer. They certainly should NOT be airing their dirty laundry in the media. Oh and by the way… Just because I support Gov. Palin on this issue doesn’t mean that I support her on every issue … and your assumption that I would consider her “the anointed one” is not only misguided but clearly lends itself to how you must view politicians and the world… ALL OR NOTHING… So as evidenced by your accusations, I can clearly say to you PUT DOWN THE BARACK OBAMA KOOL-AID AND OPEN YOUR EYES…..THERE IS NO HARD LINE IN THE SAND THAT YOU MUST DRAW… STOP WATCHING MSNBC EXCLUSIVELY … AND GO OUTSIDE ONCE IN WHILE THE FRESH AIR MIGHT DO YOU SOME GOOD.

Hey ~ Not all Alaskans are as crazy as AM (from AK). This person probably hasn’t spent much outside themselves because it’s been really, really unusually nice here lately and they definitely wouldn’t sound so crazy if they’d been outside to see it.

Are you related to the Johnston’s or do you just get your drugs from them?

Surfing the web, I found this webblog. I am researching for several ideas for a template for my own place. I this theme, did you produce or modify this template? I have a internet site also and my design seems to be kinda inferior so visitors do not stay on my site very long.
