She's expecting Baby #4!
Teresa Giudice, 36, from "The Real Housewives of New Jersey," just announced she's pregnant with her fourth child. Gulp! Here, she talks to momlogic about her pregnancy and the show, plus shares her mom confession.
momlogic: How far along are you? And how are you feeling?
I am five-and-a-half months and feeling good. I was feeling nauseous in the beginning and I was really tired, but thank God it's all gone and I feel great.
ML: When is your due date?
Teresa: I am due in September.
ML: Do you know if it's a boy or girl?
Teresa: We are going to be surprised. We don't want to know.
ML: As the mother of 3 beautiful girls, are you trying for that boy ... or would you love another little girl?
Teresa: I said, "Let's go for an even number." If it's a girl, it will be great because we have three daughters and I see two who hang out together and the third gets left alone. If we have another girl, it will be a blessing -- there will be two on two and they can pair off. If it's a boy, that's great, too! We will spoil him to death and do everything for him. That's how I grew up. I had a brother and I always did everything for him. I always wanted three children but then I wanted an even number, so we tried one more time.
ML: Any advice or mommy secrets you can share on how you balance raising your 3 daughters with filming "The Real Housewives of New Jersey"?
Teresa: I don't know. I am really easygoing and I don't get stressed. I love my girls so much and I am just happy with them every day. They are a joy to me and I try not to get stressed out. If you've seen the show, you see how I am and my attitude. I have crazy days, but enjoy life every day and I enjoy my kids. Milania went through her "terrible twos," but the girls are great and we go with the flow. Some moms keep their kids on a schedule. I have never done that. Whatever I do, they are right there with me. When you're too much on a schedule, it's not a good thing because then if you take them out of their routine, they get off balance. I hung out with some moms who have to be home because their kids have to take a nap. That's so not me! I am a no-schedule person. We love to go out and entertain and it's hard to be on a schedule. My girls are easygoing, love doing everything, and they don't love being on a schedule. It seems to work for me. With friends, their kids go to bed at 7:30 or 8:00 PM every single night. If they try to take them out to dinner or past that time, they are cranky, they fall asleep wherever they are, and it makes it harder for the parents and it's not the kids' fault. They are used to their schedule. My kids are flexible and they're great kids.
ML: In April, your castmate Jacqueline Laurita confirmed she's also expecting her 3rd child ... Do you share any advice or mommy secrets with each other?
Teresa: We talk every day. I speak with her every day -- she's one of my good friends. I was going to wait because I didn't know if we were going to have another season. She wanted me to be pregnant when she's pregnant. I was nervous about having a baby if we do have a second season, but I can't wait because my clock is ticking. I also wanted to give myself some space and didn't want to [get pregnant again] right after Milania was born. Gabriella and Milania are so close in age, they are 16 months apart. It was like having twins. Gia and Gabriella are 3 years apart. I like that better because it gives some space and I can enjoy the next baby. Milania is 3 now, so there will be a few years between her and the new baby.
ML: On the show, we see your great personality and good heart. Then there's the talk of the "table-flipping" incident. Can you share what happened, or what was going through your mind at that moment?
Teresa: You're going to have to watch and see. I could say I have never done that before, and you can tell I was really angry. I normally don't do that. It was the first time, but that's how mad the person got me. Let's just say it was a long time coming.
ML: Any hints on what we can expect to see during the season of "The Real Housewives of New Jersey"?
Teresa: A lot of drama. Drama, drama, drama, and a lot of laughs. It's funny. I think we bring something new to the show. Not because we're on it, but even my husband thinks the show is funny. He's more of a tough guy, but he thinks it's funny and he can relate. I think we're going to attract a wide group of people who can relate to us. We're more real, outgoing, and funny, so hopefully everyone enjoys it.
ML: On momlogic.com, we've been sharing "mommy confessions." Do you have any you can spill?
Teresa: My mommy confession is that I sometimes fall asleep with my daughters at night. When I put them to bed, I lay down with them and often fall asleep with them. Sometimes I am so tired my husband has to come in and wake me. I know I should stop doing it because when the new baby is born, they are going to have to go to bed themselves. I keep telling them I can't sleep with them anymore. I am really going to be busy with the new baby -- it's going to be hard and then I am going to be really wiped out.
ML: Some moms admit to only bathing their kids once a week or feeding them ice cream for dinner ...
Teresa: My kids bathe twice a day or three times a day. They must be the cleanest kids ever. And with food, I cook every night, Monday through Thursday. Friday we go out to eat with the girls to our favorite restaurant. Saturday we have date night, and Sunday, we do the big Italian pasta dinner with my parents or brother. Even if I order out, my kids don't want it. They want to know when I'm going to cook!
