According to just-released transcripts, Casey Anthony reached out to a friend for help long before Caylee went missing.
Earlier today, the investigators in the Casey Anthony case released thousands of documents to the public. Included are transcripts of an interview with Anthony family friend Michelle Murphy, who voiced concern about Casey's mental state when she received a desperate call from her in March 2007 -- over a year before Caylee went missing.
"She called me and said that she was ... she needed somebody to talk to, that she was feeling crazy. She was thinking about getting herself committed," Murphy told lead detective Yuri Melich in January.
Not all of the documents slated to go public were released today.
Caylee Anthony's autopsy report has been temporarily blocked by the Anthonys because they argue it would cause them undue distress. A motion to continue to withhold the report will be heard by Judge Stan Strickland in the coming week.
Included in the discovery are transcripts from the Zanieda Gonzales defamation suit and a woman who claimed to have found a baby blanket in one of the many searches for Caylee, as well as Casey's employment history at Universal Studios. Anthony had told investigators she worked for the theme park as an event planner when in fact she had been fired in April of 2006.
Casey Anthony, incarcerated in the Orange County jail, is charged with the murder of her daughter, Caylee. Initially Anthony claimed the girl was kidnapped by her nanny, Zanieda Gonzales.

Casey never turned to her parents to seek guidance and support for her mental issues that caused her great pain. Casey knew that Cindy and George had deep issues of their own that needed to be addressed. It’s really sad when families are so dysfunctional that each family member can’t even be there to help or get help for their loved ones. This tragic case could have been avoided if Cindy and George were tuned in to their daughters downward spiral, for it was the red flag to get help for her.If Casey only felt “safe and connected” to her Mother , she would have been able to go to her when she felt she was going crazy.Mothers-keep your bond of connection close, when it comes to your children. Let them know they can always come to you, with no judgement-just unconditional love!

Uh…at precisely what age would you say Casey’s downward spiral began? She has been stealing for many years-Lord only knows how long she’s been sexually active, and it’s been said by many friends and relatives that she’s always been a compulsive liar! My point is that Casey has ALWAYS been this person she is now (at least the lying, wild, thief we know her as). So, how can this be a ‘downward spiral’? She is a mean, spoiled, self-centered liar and thief, plain and simple. Her own extended family members (eg:her maternal grandmother even says this is so). I agree with you Leeza that mothers should keep their bond w/their children close and love them undconditionally, but I believe they should be doing so while at the same time disciplining their children for wrongdoing!!! Their is this thing called ‘tough love’, and that’s what Cindy and George never learned when it came to Casey, but they have oppurtunity to show this type of love now by telling the WHOLE truth of what they know, thereby showing Casey that Caylee’s death must be atoned for.

I agree with “real”..this long.(way too long) time period before the trial ,is meant to get people to forget the outrage, forget Caylee, and go soft for Casey..people have short memories, but we must keep poor CAYLEE in our thoughts, and what she had taken from her by a spoiled, sociopath..Casey has no heart or feeling for anyone, that is in her forever…George and Cindy are also lost causes, they abandoned Caylee a long time ago. I for one will never forget Caylee, and hope for justice.

I only pray that everyone out there hasn’t bought into the insanity defense that Andrea Lyon is concocting. This mother clearly killed her child, afterward partying her self silly, stealing some more from friends, watched a movie w/ boyfriend about a child abduction and murder, hasn’t shown one ounce of sadness or remorse that Caylee is gone, only shows emotion when the finger is being pointed to her in connection to Caylee’s death, not to mention not caring one iota that she has ruined Zenaida Gongalez’ reputation, or that she’s costing the citizens of Fla. BOOKOO bucks for this trial, and wasted the time of all the organizations who searched for little Caylee. Now, think about this…Andrea Yates (the mother who drowned her 5 children) is clinically insane, and yes, it was known way beforehand that she was mentally ill, but remember what she did after the drownings? She called 911 and told them she had killed her children. She didn’t blame somebody else for their deaths, and she didn’t go ‘pole-dancing’ in some club, or steal from and lie to everyone she knew!!! Susan SMith, on the other hand, did much the same as Casey when it came to the lies to the public and freind, but where is she now—live in prison!!! No, Casey isn’t mentally ill, she’s just plain mean and cold-hearted!! I would hate to think she could get comitted to a mental facilty for several years only to be released to do this again!!!

Sorry for posting so many times, but I REALLY want to keep Cayley’s death fresh in people’s memories, just as you said ‘Anonymous”. As for my last post regarding people getting comitted only to be released from mental facilities to murder again, it happens all the time. Let’s not let the prosecution ‘snow us’ by making us feel sorry for “poor little Casey-she was so neglected by her parents that she became insane and killed her daughter”!!! Countless numbers of insane people whould never even consider murdering their child, so let’s not even begin to buy into this BS, please…..Justice For Caylee!!!!!!!

you know what? why doesnt everyone just quit saying even on word about this mockery of justice. we are all giving this too much attention. if we all just waited for the trial and not keep drawing all this attention to this lying, dysfunctional, cruel,family. we cant forget caylee ever but how much more can we all take of this. now the new lawyer says oct.is too soon for the trial. give me a break.i hope george and cindy are suffering more anxiety waitingfor their monster daughter to plead not guilty.how long does this have to go on?

Mary, everybody is seeing so many obviously guilty people get light sentences or found not guilty in these high profile cases, we just don’t want anyone to forget, this is just a way to vent our fear of that happening. I totally agree with you about this family, and yes, this trial should be going on now.. not in Oct, or God forbid, later.

Most of this “he said” “she said” isn’t going to matter in the trial. Just the facts (like never reporting the 2 year old missing!) and science will matter.

Tomorrow is the anniversary of Caylee Marie Anthony’s death. It’s a day of sadness. I agree Caylee’s tragic murder could have been prevented if someone had recognized Casey was a sociopath and taken the baby from the entire Anthony clan when she was born. But that would have never happened anyway. Sociopaths are deceptive and fool a lot of people because they wear the sanity mask. They are also very good at blending in with society and pretending to be the perfect mother, the perfect girlfriend, the perfect friend. At home, she let her mask fall some and lied, stole and threw tantrums knowing she would never pay any consequences. It would have helped if George and Cindy hadn’t looked the other way and lived in fantasyland that their daughter is the Mother of the Year. But Caylee is dead and on the anniversary of her death I want to focus on Caylee and not the crazy family she had the misfortune of being born into.

for keepinitreal—even though susan smith did pull the same crap that casey is pulling if my history on her is correct she did finally cop to it 8-9 days in to the investigation, Casey has done No such thing she has drug this bull out for over a year and that makes her even worse!

Adoption is not an option for many types of people. With all the mental problems Casey had all her life, she was in no position to have a child. She shouldn’t have been forced to go through the childbirth.

Casey’s parents are just as guilty as she is. They raised a self indulging, spoiled socio-path. It does not take a genius to have seen what she was. Cindy screamed at one of Casey’s boyfriends asking why he would want to be with such a loser (Casey) that she did not even finish high school and that she (Cindy) was supporting Casey and Caylee. She and George knew all along that Casey was not employed and had not been employed for at least a year, that certainly explains why this self indulging DARLING stole from her own grandparents, friends and Mom and Dad. Get IT, Cindy and George can talk all they want about Caylee and their love for her yet they defend and claim to believe the very person that killed that precious little girl. So no pity for them from me they perpetuated her lifestyle by not holding her accountable and ignoring what was apparent to many others, until it was too late for a little girl by the name of CAYLEE!!!! SHAME ON BOTH OF THEM!!!

well as the saying goes spare the rod spoil the child….and still George and Cindy will not make Casey responsible for her own actions. No we cannot forget about CAYLEE. Insanity plea is total BS…Caylee’s death was cold and calculated! This case can take as long as they want to drag it out but truth is truth and no one will forget! Good thing I’m not on the Jury!
