Is This Billboard Too Sexy?

Monday, June 15, 2009

The Calvin Klein "threesome" billboard in NYC is borderline pornographic, say some.

threesome calvin klein billboard in soho

Some parents are in an uproar over a Calvin Klein billboard that shows a teen girl in a threesome while a third guy watches.

A Calvin Klein spokesman tells the New York Daily News that the "intention was to create a very sexy campaign that speaks to our targeted demographic."

Many parents are irritated that such a provocative image is plastered up there for their kids to see, with no filter.

Check out the billboard for yourself. Is this offensive to you, or is it no big deal?

I feel the Calvin Klein add has gone to far.. You should be trying to influence the youth the positive adds to try to lure them to buy your product..You should not be glorifying unprotected sex with multiple partners. Don’t you care at all about our children. I along with all members of my family will not be buying ANY Calvin Klein merchandise ever again.. So you did get the attention you wanted hopefully your add will have the opposite affect you wanted and sales will decrease even further than they have over the past several years…. try taking a positive approach to help the youth stay protected and safe..

Oh come on, there’s worst stuff on TV or the internet. Most kids won’t understand what they’re doing anyhow. It doesn’t bother me. I get why they did it, and their trying to make their product look sexy.

I’m going to be 100 percent hoonest when I say that their product is being represented the way they want it to. They don’t want the 50 year old lady who finds that offensive or the 10 year old who doesn’t know what its about wearing their clothes. They want young people who, whether you like it are not, are sexually active and are concerned with getting laid. it’s a campaign, and it works.

This is pure smut. The sign does NOT promote jeans. It promotes behavior. Thanks, CK.

Parents who love there children will get this stuff away from them. Avoid going to businesses with the kids that can see the advertisement. There may be a scientific reason why this would be appealing in a crowded environment. We are not mice. Don’t live like animals. Don’t accept this

ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!!! I will not buy their clothing anymore. What are we teaching our children about morals? Is there not anyone with morals any more? We wonder why children are being abused and sold into slavery? This is just feeding into that behavior.

I think they have gone way too far for general public advertisement. They had this ad in Rolling Stone, which is fine that is a magazine that targets their demographic, ok i get it.

Ten years ago, I may not have found an ad like this offensive. However, with age comes wisdom, and now as a mother, I think this sends out a horrible message to children and young adults. It is not only too graphic sexually, but it also exploits women. What are young girls to believe seeing ads like that? That three men on one is okay? That it’s sexy? Desirable? Young people are very impressionable and there is nothing useful, or good that they can learn from ads like that.

Don’t like it SEXUAL? then how about VIOLENCE???!!!…Hmm…How about them characters shooting at each other, blowing up each other, beating at each other??? Do you think that’s ok? Oh you say because they’re cartoons or they’re fictional looking characters???…EVEN WORST…why?..because they’re directly aimed at CHILDREN!!!… You ask what are we teaching our children about morals??? So you’re saying that you rely on a stupid/sexual AD to teach your children about morals???…Ask yourselves the question…What are YOU teaching YOUR children about morals…..and HOW…..do you even talk to your children about these kinds of things??? Or you’re TOO UNCOMFORTABLE to talk to your children and TEACH them the right way?……………………………………………………………..

I’ve never understood ads like these…it doesn’t make me any more likely to buy their jeans! I think it’s stupid but it doesn’t necessarily offend me.

If that is not offensive then no sexually explicit material will be offensive to you. Does it now not matter now that it is offensive to me?

This is the most catastrophic death I have ever witnessed, the huge fan base of millions for the King of Pop who were effected by his music, No matter who you are, and where you live, what you do for a living, no matter how much you like or dislike him, one thing you can say is he has touched everyones lives. somehow in someway. Everyone and I mean EVERYONE has been touched by his music, one way or another. MJ’s music has and always will have an impact on the world, past, present and future. We will never know or understand the influince he has had on so many of us. The memory of Michael Jackson’s life will live on forever! I’m hoping in his memory there will be more peace and prosparity in the future. Below is my own personal tribute sites to MJ, it will open shortly after his memorial and I hope to offer other a place to share memoirs. Michael Jacksons Memorial Michael Jackson Memorial
