In a move that surprises no one, the Miss Universe organization has canned Miss California Carrie Prejean. Gimme that crown!

carrie prejean miss CA fired

Miss California pageant director Keith Lewis says the decision was based solely on "contract violations," including Prejean's "unwillingness to make appearances on behalf of the Miss California USA organization." Says Lewis, "After our press conference in New York, we had hoped we would be able to forge a better working relationship. However, since that time it has become abundantly clear that Carrie is unwilling to fulfill her obligations under our contract and work together."

That leaves the first runner-up, Miss Malibu Tami Farrell, to assume the role and responsibilities of Miss California.

“In a move that surprises no one”—?

I’M surprised. Usually assholes get away with everything; I’m glad to see her get punished for her behavior.

Hey Barb, clearly you haven’t had time to read the First Amendment so here you go. Amendment I: Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; OR ABRIDGING THE FREEDOM OF SPEECH, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances. …… So, NO she should not be punished for expressing her opinion to a specific question in which she was asked for her opinion. If you disagree with her opinion, as I do, then you should express your opinion in opposition with and intelligent statement instead of using disdain and calling people names as that only temper tantrum like behavior only hurts the people who you claim to defend. Personally, I support gay marriage because I don’t believe that one group of people should be denied a right that another group is guaranteed by the constitution. As for Carrie getting fired, if she was in fact in breach of her contract then the firing was justified. However, if she has met all the requirements of her contract, then I hope she sues the pants off the Miss Universe Organization :O)

Trump probably figured he had gotten all the publicity he could get from all the Prejean-related drama, so it was time for him to move on; how business-like of him

Dot, I’ve responded to your comment twice, but it looks like I’m having some technical difficulties. The gist: I agree with you, and my beef with her wasn’t her difference in my opinion, but in her whining since the contest. I definitely should’ve explained myself in my first comment=lesson learned!
