She only asked for three, says a Belgian girl, but ended up with 56 stars tattooed on her face because she said she fell asleep during the procedure. Huh?!
For Kimberley Vlaeminck, Dr. Seuss's "The Sneetches" could be a cautionary tale. In the story "The Sneetches," they first wanted stars on their bellies ... then they wanted to get them removed. And it cost them plenty.
According to the Daily Mail, 18-year-old Vlaeminck requested only 3 stars to be inked on her face, but something got lost in translation and the tattoo artist put 56 of them on instead. "When he started the tattooing, I didn't want to feel the pain, and so I went to sleep. I woke up when he was starting to tattoo my nose and I saw what he had already done. I counted 56 stars, it's frightening," Vlaeminck told the Daily Mail.
Tattooist Rouslan Toumaniantz tells another story. "She agreed, but when her father saw it, the trouble started," Belgian newspaper Het Laatste Nieuws quoted the man as saying.
Toumaniantz says he gave the girl exactly what she asked for -- not a star more, not a star less. In fact, he says the Belgian teen was awake during the tattooing session, even checking herself out in the mirror from time to time.
Vlaeminck plans to sue for the cost of removing the tattoos, which is estimated at $13,000. Or Sylvester McMonkey McBean might let her use his Star-Off Machine.

This girl has a serious case of buyers remorse. She clearly asked for exactly what she got. There’s no way a tattoo artist would randomly place tattoo’s just anywhere on her face. They obviously discussed placement prior to starting. Plus, some of the stars are filled in and some aren’t. She obviously asked for that. Besides, no tattoo artist worth his ink would continue the tattooing process on someone who falls asleep for more than a few moments. THAT’s where the risk of being sued really comes into play.

Total B.S. on the girl’s part. Falling asleep during 3 small star tattoos??? Yeah right, whatever! but 56?!? Unless she was completely high on something and that is yet another thing to hide from daddy, no way could she sleep thru that.

I agree with Dels and I was just thinking the same thing how in the world could you fall sleep thru someone tattooing you? I just doin’t buy it. I hope the Tattoo shop had cameras it would be very useful to prove that she’s lying.

This girl is a LIAR. The only people she will convince are the biblethumpers who are anti-tattoo to begin with. Anyone who has had a tattoo or been witness to one will KNOW that people don’t just “go to sleep” when they’re getting permanent artwork done, nor do tattooists (who are putting their PERMANENT REPUATION on the line - and on your body!) place art on people on a whim. I feel sorry for this guy for getting this crap but against him, I even read he’s promised to pay for 1/2 the removal, though he SHOULDN’T. He’s getting bad press and hate for nothing. Tattoos are still looked down on by a large part of society and she’s not doing anything to help what truly is a reputable career and respected art form. I’ve never met a professional tattooist who’s charged less than $100/hr. He wouldn’t give that up. It’s not easy to become a tattooist. This girl is a little lying scammer. If i was her parents I would teach her to take the responsibility of her stupidass decisions herself and not blame them on others. This makes me sick to my stomach! What a life-ruining, self-centered little tramp!!!! UGH!

I love getting tattoos and I can understand how one could fall asleep during the procedure. I do, however, think she’s completely lying about only wanting 3 tattoos. Three stars might take, at most, 30 minutes, but probably more like 15. there is no way she fell asleep with the needles going across her face in just a few minutes unless she was drunk or stoned.

I have fallen asleep during a tattoo session and no I wasnt on any drugs. However, it was because it was in a place that wasnt painful. The ones I have that were…there is no way I could have fallen asleep and I dont suspect that getting one on your face feels like having a facial. She is definitely regretting what she has done and its pretty sad to blame it on someone else who makes a living that way. Just own up to the fact that you feel you made a mistake. Shes pretty dumb.

Don’t tatoo artists usually sketch on what they will be permanently doing PRIOR to starting? That is how it was with my three…and they are all tiny like hers (not on my face though!!). Maybe they do it differently in Belgium but since it is an art, why would an artist put their reputation on the line by not doing what their client requested. I guess when daddy threatened to cut her off, her story changed quickly…it is always someone elses fault.

Okay, I can see falling asleep while being tattooed in regular places, I’ve done it myself enough times (I’ve got around 250+ hours of ink on me) but there is NO way you’d sleep through facial tattoos. I haven’t gotten my face tattooed, however, quite a few of my friends and kin have, and that is DEFINITELY a wake up and notice area. That girl is skinny lookin too, so there’s not any real insulation factor to make it easier on her. Straight up… tattoo artist is getting a bad rep, but here’s the other side of it: My ink is done by quality artists, and they one and all refuse to tattoo anybody on the hands, feet, or above the collar line unless they already have ink in those areas. Smart tattoists are not going to tattoo bippy tard girl’s faces. So yeah, the broad has buyers remorse, no arguement, and she’s certainly trashing somebody else for her own stupidity. But she’s not the only dumb one here. That artist is learning a valuable lesson… don’t trust that your clients have the sense to know what they really can hang with. That, quite possibly, is the real reason the guy is forking over half the clean up costs. Stupidity SHOULD be painful.

I have a few tatts and I couldn’t fall alseep. Espceially if you have one in your face. I would want to stay awake to make sure they did a god job. Your face is what people see first so you would want to make sure it was presentable. I think that she asked for that and when dad saw she changed her story. On a note when I got my tatts they would ask me for my payemnt first before they started. It gives the tatt artist a bad name she shoudl be paying him for all the business he will loose.

She has now admitted that she lied. She wasn’t asleep, she did ask for all those stars, she did know what was happening, and she loved it at first, but then when her father saw it he got angry with her, and she made up this story about falling asleep. I’m sure people are very surprised to find out she was lying. After all, her story was just so credible and everything. Shocking, eh?

I was in Venice Beach, CA a few years ago, and there was this young girl, maybe 13, possibly 15, getting the name of her boyfriend, Jeremiah, or something long, tatooed across her chest, in an arc, with the largest letters possible. I am sure she was way under legal age. I just felt so bad for her, because relationships at that age come and go in a matter of days. It was afternoon, and she was sober. The booth she was in had only four foot walls, so I could talk to her. She said it was the name of her boyfriend. I didn’t say anything against it, as the outline was already two thirds done, and half the letters were fully filled in. I guess people don’t think that they might not want something so permanent later. Especially teens.
