Toddler Drowns in Mop Bucket at Daycare

The daycare center was operated from a single-family house, at 101-27 108th Street in Richmond Hill, Queens.
It was unclear whether the daycare was operating legally, but health officials were investigating. Preliminary information indicated the location may have been considered an informal care arrangement requiring no permit or license, the health department said.
Detectives are questioning the owner of the house and at least one other adult who was present at the time of the drowning. Law enforcement sources tell Eyewitness News the owner will be arrested, but charges have not been filed.

What a shame!!
horrific. so unneccessary and tragic.
So tragic.
Toilet locks are a good idea parents! Toddler’s heads weigh so much that if they go head-first they can’t get out, as what happened in this situation.
Not to take anything away from this horrific tragedy, but why is this article contradicting itself?
“he climbed face-first into a bucket inside an illegal Queens daycare”
“It was unclear whether the daycare was operating legally, but health officials were investigating.”
“Preliminary information indicated the location may have been considered an informal care arrangement requiring no permit or license, the health department said.”
You really should get your facts straight before you write an article filled with differing statements. Either its an illegal daycare, an informal care situation, or unknown at this time. Its articles like this filled with mistakes that draw attention away from the main point: a child’s unnecessary death.
My condolences to the family.
WHO EVER WROTE THIS IS NOT DOING A VERY GOOD JOB. #1 THEY HAVE THE NAME OF THE CHILD WRONG #2 HOW THE HECK CAN THEY CONTRADICT THEM SELVES LIKE THEY ARE.
IS IT SAFE TO ASSUME A PRESCHOOLER WROTE THIS BIT OF NEWS?
