And we thought we'd seen it all. Now pregnant women can hold an actual, life-sized model of their unborn child in the palm of their hand.
Brazilian designer Jorge Lopes, using 3-D technology, is taking the ultrasound to the next level by creating models of actual fetuses. The models went on display recently in London at the Royal College of Art.
Lopes has been receiving praise from doctors and moms alike. Stuart Campbell, head of obstetrics and gynecology at King's College London told the Times of London, "For doctors this is a fantastic development and it is absolutely unique." Lopes says moms are flabbergasted. "It's amazing to see the faces of the mothers. They can see the full scale of their baby, really understand the size of it."

A BABY IS CALLED A BABY NOT A FETUS!!!
A fetus is a fetus, not a so-called “baby.” An infant is an infant after it’s born. A fetus (Latin, foetus) survive on its own outside of an incubating environment. Get over it!

Hmm, I’m not sure. I do think I would love a “doll” of my daughters as newborns.
I disagree with some people over the fetus vs baby issue. The minute I saw the positive results on the pregnancy tests, my daughters were my babies, they were my daughters, my children. I never considered them to be fetuses.

A little creepy and very cool too. I wouldn’t want one, but it would be cool to see! My son was always my “baby” from the moment I saw two lines on the stick. However, he WAS still an embryo and a fetus. It’s just words, people.

Anonymous: It’s not just words…if it were, then people wouldn’t be upset about those types of things….fetus and embryo are substitute terms to help people who have no respect for human life to be able to live with themselves after dirty deeds are done.
i definitely agree GPC… makes it easier for those ppl to just “get rid of it” such a sad thing ruining a human life like that…I have a 2 month old and i can honestly say i never referred to her as a fetus..she was my DAUGHTER!
