Step on the Gas

Here's how to save money on gas this summer.

Recession Mama: Well, summer is here and I am out and about all day long. In this fine weather, I don't mind driving around a bit, but I do notice that I'm filling up my tank a little more frequently.
I try to pay attention to gas prices when I need a refill, but they change every day. That's why I check gasbuddy.com regularly to see what the best prices are in my area, or wherever I am going that day.
Users submit data on stations they visit. You can search by area and by station name. For instance, gas at the closest station to my house in Southern California was $3.09 today. The best price in my neighborhood was $2.93, but when I searched the next town over, at the Costco I frequent, the price dropped to $2.81. I have a sixteen gallon tank, so 28 cents less per gallon works out to be a savings of a whopping $4.48 per fill-up for me.
I fill up about twice a week, so that comes to just under ten dollars! And over $500 a year, for just a few seconds of research ... How great is the Internet?
