"Breakfast Club" Director Dead at 59


Iconic '80s film writer, director, and producer John Hughes, responsible for such coming-of-age hits as "The Breakfast Club," "Sixteen Candles," and "Ferris Bueller's Day Off," has died of a heart attack at the age of 59.
Hughes is often credited with creating the '80s Brat Pack, and his films were some of the most successful films of that decade.
Some of his other credits include "Maid in Manhattan," "Mr. Mom," "Home Alone," "Planes, Trains & Automobiles," "Some Kind of Wonderful," the entire series of the "Vacation" movies with Chevy Chase, and "Pretty in Pink."
