Chris Brown faced a judge today to receive his sentence.
Singer Chris Brown was in an L.A. courtroom today to receive his sentence for assaulting his onetime girlfriend, Rihanna. The singer, who spoke very little in court, except to confirm that he understood the sentence, was placed on felony probation for five years. The judge also ordered him to complete a 52-week domestic violence class and counseling program, and to perform 180 days of community labor -- which is different from community service. He also must pay a fine, and was ordered to stay away from Rihanna, unless they are at an event.
Brown pleaded guilty to assaulting Rihanna in June. He was arrested after the couple got into a physical fight hours before this year's Grammy Awards.
Brown plans on serving his community labor sentence in his home state of Virginia. Rihanna was not in court today.
