Momlogic's Julie: I have often seen pregnancy tests at the 99 Cents Only store and wondered who the heck bought 'em. I can't imagine they'd be the most accurate in the world at that price! But parents in England worry these cheapie pregnancy tests are making teens have more sex. Huh?
The Daily Mail reports that "dozens of girls -- many below the age of consent -- have been snapping up the tests from the store." And mothers living nearby reportedly say bargain basement prices will see teenage pregnancies soar.
A store owner defended the decision to stock them, saying young girls would have sex regardless of the cost of testing kits.
I agree ... cheap pregnancy tests are not going to make teens have sex any more or less than they already are!

This is a ridiculous concept which has no verifiable correlation. Like a teenager will really stop having sex if the kits were more expensive?? Some of these parents need to get a grip of what’s really going on with their daughters and take responsibility instead of blaming the cost of pregnancy tests.
I love dollar store pregnancy tests! Why waste $20 when you can get the same answer for $1??? Studies have been done that show they are just as accurate as the expensive tests when done right!
I agree unfortunately teens are going to have sex reguardless. I also have used the dollar store tests (so i could use them for my children’s baby books and they were correct every time.
Tracie, its interesting that you mention that parents should get a grip and learn to control their daughters. But it takes two to have a pregnancy scare. Control your boys too!
