The gorilla mom that tragically lost her baby gives birth to a healthy girl.
It was almost a year ago when the pictures of a grieving gorilla mother touched hearts across the globe. Gana was photographed clutching her baby, Claudio, for several days after the infant had died. Now the 12-year-old gorilla is a mother again. On Sunday, she gave birth to a girl at the Muenster Zoo in Germany. Both mom and baby are doing well!

Good for her! I hope her baby stays healthy. As a child, we had a collie mix. She gave birth to one litter too early and it was very hard to take those pups from her to bury them. A week or so later, she found 2 baby rabbits in the garden & brought them to the porch. We ended up dropper-feeding those bunnies under her careful watch. The three of them spent many happy years together.
