Jennie Garth Gets Real

You'd think it would be easy to hate Jennie Garth. Well, it would be -- if she wasn't so damn nice!

Yvette Manessis Corporon: In fact, after chatting up the "90210" star, we learned that even with all her success, this Hollywood mom says giving her kids a life of privilege is not exactly her first priority. Jennie explains, "My girls know that they are lucky and fortunate, and even a little spoiled. As parents, we want to give our kids everything we can, but at the same time, we have to instill values."

And that value system is why Jennie tells us she teamed up with Save the Children and T.J. Maxx, to help make back-to-school time a bit easier for families in these difficult financial times. "I wanted to help bring attention to Save the Children and the work that they do here in the U.S. This year, for each reusable shopping bag purchased at T.J. Maxx, they'll donate one basic item to Save the Children's U.S.-based programs to help ensure kids have the basic essentials they need for school. As the mother of three kids, I know how much it can take to send them back to school."

In fact, with Luca Bella, Lola Ray, and Fiona Eve all heading back to school this September, Jennie -- like the rest of us -- is looking forward to a little peace and quiet. "Yes, the girls are excited about going back to school. And with the three, I will have girls in each level of school: pre-K, grade school, and junior high. I'm looking forward to back to school because it will also give me time to do a few things for myself."

But she won't have too much time for things like manicures and massages once the girls head back to the classroom. In fact, Jennie tells us she'll be heading back to work on the set of the new "90210." "It's really a lot of fun to be on the show, and to be part of a show that launched my career that is now doing the same thing for a new generation of young actors. Now my family is my first priority. Peter and I try to sync our schedules so that one of us is with the girls."

And that's probably a really good idea. Jennie filled us in on just how far rabid fans of Peter's "Twilight" character, Dr. Cullen, have gone to get close to her supernatural superstar hubby. "We have actually had fans and people from other countries show up at our house."

While they have seen "Twilight," the Facinelli girls still can't watch any of mom's steamier shows, like "90210." But even so, it seems the whole family picked up some fancy footwork while watching Jennie work those sequined costumes in "Dancing with the Stars." "Sometimes we have our own dance parties and put on the radio and we all dance together in the living room," she tells us.

And who knows -- maybe those sexy sambas and titillating tangos will lead to Jennie playing the role of new mommy once again. Her take? Well -- she's learned to never say never. "We're good with the Facinelli five, but I'm always open to it."

Great site. Good and fun reading. I’ve just got a small thing to submit about funny t-shirts.
