Some big-time celebs are slated to appear in a new "Sesame Street"-style show to teach children about the Jewish culture.
"Shalom Sesame," a 12-part series for preschoolers featuring a globe-trotting Grover, will showcase Jewish culture and tradition. The series, set to shoot at several Israeli historical landmarks including the Western Wall, will feature stars like Debra Messing, Ben Stiller, and Jake Gyllenhaal.
First produced in 1986, "Shalom Sesame" has sold more than 1 million copies on video and DVD. This new production tackles more issues of diversity for Jewish children and will be complimented by an interactive website.
The series will debut around Hanukkah in 2010.
