My husband is out of town this week with my kids, and I can't sleep a wink.
Momlogic's Julie: I am not sure why this happens ... but when my husband is out of town, I become a terrified, helpless woman who is scared out of her wits.
Anytime I hear a car, I SWEAR it is a burglar coming to murder me. (However, I live in a safe neighborhood and our house has never been burglarized in its entire history, as far as I know.)
I fall asleep with all the lights on and TV on, and can never fall into a restful trance.
I sleep with the cordless phone next to me and my next-door neighbor's number, just in case I need to call for help.
I even put chairs in front of the front and side door.
I realize this is completely stupid, but no matter how many times I tell myself I'm going to be fine, I just can't shut off those thoughts in my head.
Any advice?
