Wessel's mother, Alicia Smock, appealed the one-game suspension during a meeting Tuesday with school district officials.
Dallas Fort Worth television station KXAS reports school officials said their final decision will be made by 10 a.m. Wednesday.
A call Tuesday by The Associated Press to the school district was not immediately returned.
Burleson is 12 miles south of downtown Fort Worth.

Stupid or not, the sooner kids realize that their behavior has consequences beyond their own little social world, the better. That’s how life is. When you have a job, in the “real world,” you have to represent yourself in a positive light. School organizations have a right to enforce behavioral standards, like it or not. This includes how people present themselves as members of said organizations. Her mother could’ve used this as a learning opportunity, but instead chose to make excuses.
I agree wholeheartedly with the school and I have no respect for her mother.
I’m sorry but NO job has the authority to stop me from wearing a bikini, taking photos, and posting them online. What I do off-hours is MY business not my bosses.
