The woman who was pregnant with another woman's baby after an error at a fertility clinic gave birth to a baby boy Thursday, reports NBC.
After Carolyn Savage gave birth, she and her husband, Sean, were able to spend a few minutes with the child, who was eventually given over to his biological parents, Shannon and Paul Morell.
The clinic informed both couples in February that Shannon Morell's embryos had been thawed and mistakenly used to impregnate Carolyn Savage.
Neither couple would name the clinic, but they have sought legal representation.
Ironically, Shannon Morell's maiden name is Savage -- the same last name that the woman who carried her baby for nine months has.
What an incredible story. Our thoughts go out to the families at this time.
