PiscesMother Arrested After Leaving Toddler Unattended
The little girl was found wearing only a diaper and holding a baby doll. Sheriff Graham Atkinson said a passerby saw the little girl in the road and tried to find out where she belonged. After a 20-minute search that produced no results, the good-Samaritan called 911. Deputies canvassed the area, but could not locate the girl's parents.
"The child had never been to that house before. They had been here since Friday. The mother apparently left during the course of the day. The grandparents went on with the business that they do. The momma had not made any arrangements for anybody to watch the child and the grandparents didn't have any idea that when the mother left that the child was not with her," Atkinson said.
Authorities with the Mount Airy Police Department found Medlind at a bar on West Lebanon Street and took her into custody as requested by the sheriff's office.
The child was released to the custody of her father who lives in Mecklenburg County. Atkinson said he did not know the father's name. He said he was not sure about the child's parents' marital status.

So the grandfather doesn’t know if the mother is married or not or if the father is even around? This woman is almost forty for crying out loud you think she’d know that she’s not in a position to raise a child her parent’s aren’t young enough to care for a child that young.

the woman does not deserve to be a mother….
she should go to jail , directly to jail and the jailer should lose the key and all her files so she never gets out
Poor little girl! What type of life has she had,do they know they have a 2 year old because they don’t act like it.I hope the father is a good Dad and she gets taken care of.
This goes to show you how our court systems work. A very close family friend fostered this child for a year and the court systems gave her back to her mother. This child has not had an ideal life. Hopefully the courts will step in now …
