WDBJ: News7 talked with some of Jarvis' neighbors in Radford.

Neighbors say her arrest could be the case of a single-mother who lost control of her home.

Neighbors say Jarvis' house is known for parties thrown by her two highschool-aged sons.

But neighbors said say she is a kind, hard-working mother.

Radford City Police would not comment on the minor who overdosed Wednesday night at Jarvis' home, but neighbors said they saw an ambulance pick up a female teenager that night.

Radford City Police did not say what will happen now, but there will probably not be an update until after Labor Day.

*********** A third grade, special education teacher in Radford is now behind bars.

Forty-three-year-old Lori Anne Jarvis is charged with possession of marijuana and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. The arrest came after a juvenile overdosed at her home Wednesday night.

The minor was treated and released at the hospital. Jarvis is being held at the NRV Regional Jail on $5,000 bond.

Jarvis works at Belle Heth Elementary School in Radford. News7 spoke with Radford City Schools' Superintendent Chuck Bishop about the arrest and what parents should know.

"They should trust that we have handled the situation accordingly and dealt with it according to Radford City School policy," said Bishop.

Jarvis has been placed on administrative leave without pay, and her job status will be reviewed by the school board.

The superintendent would not comment on whether the child was one of her students or not, however Jarvis' neighbors in the Forest Park neighborhood say they saw an ambulance pick up a female teenager that night.

Neighbors say Jarvis' house is known for parties thrown by her two high school age sons. They say she is a kind, hard-working mother.
