Baby "Guzzles" Beer to Prove a Point

A billboard meant to combat underage drinking uses a baby as its poster child.

Drivers passing by on a highway in Connecticut are getting an eyeful. A powerful billboard urging parents to help stop underage drinking depicts a baby suckling a beer bottle to drive the message home. The caption says, "There is no such thing as safe underage drinking."

What do you think of this ad? Is it powerful, or does the image of the baby and beer bottle go too far?

This billboard is insipid, to say the least. Underage drinking is the most unnecessarily demonized activity in America today. The premise of the anti-underage drinking argument seems to rest on the idea that, before the (arbitrarily decided) age of 21, a person is not able to make his or her own decisions, a faulty and archaic assumption at best. “There’s no such thing as safe underage drinking” is the same thing as saying “There’s no such thing as safe overage drinking.” If it’s drinking that’s the demon, so be it. Just don’t leap to the categorically inappropriate conclusion that, before a certain age, underage drinking is somehow evil and it’s ok after someone has turned 21. It makes me want to vomit that this mindset still holds sway in a supposedly “enlightened” culture.

And what magical thing clicks into place at age 21 to suddenly make drinking “safe”? Ryan Tuck already said much of what I’d wanted to add; don’t teach your children to binge drink for crying out loud, teach them responsibility! I must have had lousy parenting as I was permitted a small glass of wine or beer (4 oz maybe) if my parents were having the same with dinner from about age 14 on. Know what I didn’t do when I arrived at my college dorm? Go on the three day bender that most of the girls on my floor did. Know what I didn’t do on my 21st birthday? Go to the bar and get slammed. Liquor was no big thing to me.

I want my abs to show a little more, already doing some excersising but I have decided to take additional supplements. Now I heard about this thing called Acai Force Max, was wondering if anyone here ever tried it succesfully? Thanks for your advice.. BTW Don’t fall for that loophole with free acai trials, they’re not free, they’ll charge you for you S+H
