As Balloon Boy's dad insists it was all real, little Falcon Heene throws up on camera. Now his dad says he's getting "ticked off" by allegations.
Richard Heene, the father of "Balloon Boy" Falcon Heene, and his family appeared on the "Today" show this morning to clear their names and assure the country that yesterday's roller coaster of emotion was NOT a hoax.
During an interview Thursday night on CNN, Falcon said, "We did this for a show." Was the family busted?
"First of all, let's clarify: He's 6," Heene says. "I don't know that he really understood the question he was being asked."
The father explained that when the press came to the Heene home after the ordeal to interview the family, Falcon showed off his hiding place.
"One of the guys told him it was for some TV show. That's what he was referring to when he made that statement," Heene said.
Then little Falcon threw up before Vieira could personally ask him about his experience.
Vieira then asked Falcon's father if this was a staged stunt. "I'm repetitively getting asked this. What do I have to gain out of this? I'm not selling anything. I'm not advertising anything. My family and I, we do this all the time."
"We're always doing some kind of scientific research," Heene said. "We're always building something together. I teach my kids how to shoot cameras. It's highly educational for my boys ... This is not some kind of hoax."
