A 3-year-old left alone with his 2-year-old brother died in a house fire. His aunt, who left the boys alone to go shopping with the boys' mother, says she has "no regrets."
This story is just too unbelievable for words.
A mother left her 3-year-old and 2-year-old home alone so she could go shopping with her aunt. A fire broke out -- and now the 3-year-old is dead, and the 2-year-old is in critical condition.
The aunt says she has "no regrets" for leaving the boys home alone, and says the mother "wasn't upset" when she found out the kids were on their way to the hospital.

What the hell is wrong with this person? How can you have "no regrets" for leaving two toddlers home alone ... especially when a fire broke out and the kids were killed or critically injured?

Part of me wants to give the aunt the benefit of the doubt. Maybe she was in shock? I hope MomLogic follows up on the story.

WTH? Why is it even a QUESTION that they should face charges? It’s neglect, at the very least! People have faced charges for leaving children of a much older age at home (7, 8, 9), so why is this even a question? After they do time in prison, they can burn in Hell. See what it’s like.

OMG yes, the Aunt and the Mother should be charged with at least neglect and possible child abuse. I still think people should get licenses to have children.

The aunt just seemed annoyed that the toddlers might of set the fire instead of grieving their lives. Stupid Woman! Having two boys the same ages, I can’t leave them alone for 5 minutes in the next room without checking on them because kids get into mischief. It’s what they do! God bless those little souls!

Its as if she has no feelings towards the children. I wouldnt be suprised if they were the ones that set the fire in the first place. Thats why they have no regrets the whole thing was probly planned.
She may have been in shock when interviewed..it was a lot to handle. I really hope she was in shock..because just makes me sad that could happen to two little toddlers. I have one little toddler and he is my life..i like most mothers do all i can to keep him out of danger. Those poor little kids..its like they were thrown in danger. So sad. God be with the little babies and the whole family.

Of course she doesn’t know how the fire started she wasnt THERE… This makes me so angry. If I was the reporter I would of wanted to pummel her!! I agree that people should have to pass some kind of mental test before they have kids.
Just another reason why people need to take an intelligence test before giving birth! I hope the surviving baby goes to a good home where he will be loved and cherished, because his mother and aunt will be doing serious TIME!

Hmmm so she went shopping but forgot her purse at home? I wish she had come back to get her purse shortly before fire broke out and just burnt in the house along with her purse. I feel so bad for the little children…
