Insurance Company to Mom: Get Sterilized!

What nerve!
When we read about this story on Strollerderby, we just couldn't believe it.
Peggy Robertson was turned down for health coverage by Golden Rule Insurance because she has had a previous C-section. But they told her that she might be eligible for coverage if she would just GET STERILIZED.
What is going on here? First a baby gets denied coverage for being "too fat" and now a woman gets denied coverage for being too fertile?
There is something seriously wrong with this picture. (And don't even get us started about how the name of the insurance company is "Golden Rule." The irony!)
I’m with you anonymous!!! I also say WE NEED REFORM ON HEALTH CARE!!!
The insurance companies are right. There is no need of these stupid broads having babies. They shoul;d be spaded after droping their 2nd mistake.
After a man produces his second mistake he should be spaded also. I know of a guy who has babies from Massachusetts down the east coast to Florida and he pays no child support. Women need to learn to use that p**Y for fun and servicing her man and NOT make babies with it.
Pick up your knuckles, Tony, they’re dragging again.
What a crock. Bigger crock that it seems to take a media outrage to fix circumstances such as this.
Hmmm…..looking at the video, it clearly says SEIU (on the bottom right), that’s all I needed to know. This is political propaganda!!! She probably works for SEIU. Wake up people!!!!
I sooo agree with you mystikfairy. It looks like we are going to be bomboarded on momlogic with stories about people complaining about their insurance companies. Is there any good stories about insurance company out there? Has anyone received good care and fair coverage? For every bad story, there are many more where people are receiving good care, the medicine they need, the surgery they need and getting the test they need. Not everyone is unhappy with their insurance company…I know I am not.
She could always pay cash for health care. That is always an option!!
So she only had one c-section and they said they wouldn’t cover a second? Vey strange…
The letter clearly states the state of Colorado does not allow riders for c-sections. It’s not the insurance company’s fault that the state has this law. Blame the state - not the insurance industry.
