People.com: As their parents continue to make tabloid headlines -- Jon faces contempt charges for taking money out of a joint account, while Kate has just lost the reality show franchise that made her famous -- the eight children of Jon and Kate Gosselin are starting to feel the effects of all the stress.
In a new article posted on Vanity Fair.com, Kate reveals her brood has been "acting out" lately - but she is hopeful it's a phase that will pass as the kids adjust to their life with divorced parents.
"I'm trying to give them the grace to see, if they're acting out of line, I'm trying to look deeper into why that is," she says in the article. "Why the kids are acting out. Cause it's all inter-related. I mean, they don't see it, but it's all interconnected."
Referring to Jon, she says, "They miss him. They say they miss him. I imagine they say the same thing when I'm away."
Not only are the kids hurting without both their parents together, Kate recently said that the demise of their hit show Jon & Kate Plus 8 -- which came after Jon objected to his children being filmed once TLC announced plans to relaunch the show as simply Kate Plus 8 -- has caused plenty of heartache at home.
Last week on the Today show, Kate said, "Over the weekend I told [the kids] that we're not filming at this point. And actually, times eight, there was wailing and sobbing. They love our crew, they love the interaction, they love the events. There is nothing harmful about it. They are angry."

I think that Kate is finally coming to the realization that “she” has to be the Mother that her kids never had before now. She had Jon and she had TLC being the Mom that “she” was supposed to be all along.Kate has always loved taking the credits, but not the responsibilities for being the Mother and parent of her 8 children.The kids are acting out because they need “her” to comfort,interact,listen,play and truly be there in mind and spirit, not just in body.The show is over, yet a new and healthier life has just begun. If only Kate loved being a Mother as much or more than being a famous diva!Kate doesn’t yet realize how blessed she is to have 8 amazing children to love and be loved by!

It is so funny that you two can point fingers, Kate has always worked, Jon and Kate plus eight was a job, but before that Kate did go out and work 16 hour shifts on the weekends as a nurse. I believe that there are alot of jealous people in this world and unless you are perfect you shouldn’t be making judgements about others. There are very few people in the world that if a production team came to your door and said we want to do a documentary about your family and we will pay you that many would refuse. So Kate and Jon accepted to give their children more advantages, what is wrong with that. Before the divorce got nasty these kids were very well adjusted. They had a mom and dad and a film crew who loved them, they went on trips that we all shared in and we have had to joy of watching these cute kids grow up.

Lauri, you don’t know what your talking about. Kate worked before they had children yes, and even when the twins were small. She worked every other sat for maybe a year after the sextuplets were born. TLC has been around since before those babies could crawl. The show was not a “job” it was a luxury. And if you remember correctly it was John who went to work everyday and then came home and was a full time-hands on dad. He quit his job because Kate was never home and was always out “promoting” the show!!

Kate loves the lime light. Now she will have to get a real job. If she wants to be in front of a camera, fine. Let these children have a normal life. Not on TV.
