Should Women Continue to Watch Letterman?

One mom thinks this is a ridiculous question.

Leslie Adler: "Should women continue to watch Letterman?"

This is a question I heard posed on a morning news show ... and I don't get it.

Why would Letterman's admission that he had sex with several women that worked for him have any impact on whether I, or any woman, continue to watch his show?

And if his behavior was categorized as offensive, why would the question only be posed to women? Shouldn't it be "Should anyone continue to watch Letterman?"

This isn't like Tom Cruise telling the world that postpartum depression is a figment of a woman's imagination, or Angelina Jolie conveying the message that it is better to rescue starving children from other countries rather than our own. Dave isn't telling all people to have sex with lots of people that work for them.

Dave has a show. Dave and his staff work long hours. Dave has power ... and money, which can make a person attractive to others. Dave seems to like sex. And, interestingly, none of the women that had sex with Dave made any complaints about him alleging he used any of these "qualities" in an inappropriate manner.

Dave's wife may have an issue with his behavior ... but I think Dave is funny, and I can come up with ten good reasons why I am going to continue to watch the Late Show with David Letterman.

I quit watching this dirty old man years ago—this just confirms why. Do you really think a woman who works for him has a choice to not sleep with him if he wants her to? UGH!

Cheers to you, Leslie for a reasonable response!

I think you are taking the gender neutral stance too far this quote “Dave has power … and money, which can make a person attractive to others.” is not true. Money and power attract Women no affect on men… Albright, Reno, Oprah still not attractive no matter how much money or power they get!

Don’t be ridiculous! Please please focus on something else that is worth your time. This is a story about something that happens every day, everywhere, and there ARE NO VICTIMS. Of COURSE women should continue to watch Letterman…why should YOU care? It’s dumb to even make this topic and write this article. I’m embarassed for you.

I totally agree with you, I see no reason not to watch Letterman. In my opinion, he’s the funniest man on tv.

I do have to say, though, that I disagree about Angelina’s message about adopting kids from other countries rather than our own. I think that celebs would have a nightmare adopting kids from the states. Goodness only knows who’d come out of the woodwork trying to claim the child… you know, for the right money.

Brad and Angelina have also done a great, great deal of work in the New Orleans area, so their efforts do touch home more than some may realize.

Tom Cruise? The man’s a nut. Cute, but crazy as bat-shizz.

Top Ten Reasons I Slept With Dave

1. He told me there was something in my underwear.

2. I find big ears attractive.

3. I got lost on the Late Night set and ended up on his couch.

4. He promised me a bologna on rye sandwich afterwards.

5. I thought he was the famous rapper Snoop Dave.

6. I used him to get to Paul.

7. It was in my contract.

8. That gap in his teeth mesmerized me.

9. I though it was part of my bonus.

10. What else is there to do Monday’s after midnight?

You have to remember that as long as you and I are humans, we will make mistakes and this man is human as well.

Ms. Adler, you frown on Ms. Jolie for trying focusing on the children of other countries instead of the USA. So how do you feel about the US giving billions of dollars to Israel every year, instead of spending that money at home?
