The debate rages on.
New York magazine features an interesting roundup of articles about circumcision.
Parents in favor of circumcision say it reduces the risk of males contracting HIV, the virus that causes AIDS. Opponents say it exposes newborn boys to unnecessary surgery, and is nothing short of genital mutilation.

I’ll never forget the horror I felt when my son came back from being circumcised and I saw the blood and the bandage. I thought, “What did I do to my perfect boy? WHY did I do this?” If I ever have another son, I won’t do it again.
Absolutely not. Why would you hurt your baby? There was nothing wrong with him to begin with. My heart breaks for these poor children.
uncircumsized boys are dirty. it’s a known fact that the extra skin keeps and retains bacteria. the whole reason circumcision was started was for health reasons. boys that are not circumsized have more issues with keeping ‘it’ clean and sanitized.
Circ’ing is NOT for my family but if others wish to do it to their sons, it doesn’t affect me so I don’t care. To anonymous (the 2nd one)-uncirc’d boys are NOT “dirtier” you are seriously misinformed, it is almost laughable! It is NOT hard to simply pull the skin back and clean up, it’s one extra ONE SECOND step in the boy’s cleaning routine. And actually, circumcision started because they thought it would STOP men from masturbating NOT because of “health” reasons. Do some actual research!!!
