Born on the Road -- Literally!

This story just goes to show that you can never be too prepared in your third trimester.

Vivian Manning-Schaffel: Bay News 9 recently reported that a woman gave birth on I-175 last weekend because her husband couldn't find the hospital!
Ironically, the couple was due to make a dry run to their hospital the following weekend.
After Amanda Bodine's water broke a month early Saturday morning, her hubby Rich tried rushing her to the hospital -- except he got lost and missed his turn. And apparently, that's the very moment their son decided to make his dramatic entrance into the world.
"She hit me very hard on this arm and I looked down and there he was," Rich said.
Things got a little hairy when they noticed the umbilical cord was wrapped around the baby's neck. Amanda insisted Rich press on to the hospital. They missed another turn and wound up at All Children's Hospital in downtown St. Petersburg instead. Medics immediately rushed to their aide and fortunately, little Evan Robert (a.k.a. ER!) is doing just fine.
"If you're going to get lost, the best place to find when you're lost is All Children's Hospital," Rich said.
How lucky! So glad all worked out for this family. But let this be a lesson to all men with heavily pregnant wives. When you're lost, for crying out loud, just ask for directions!
