Us Magazine: Production on Courteney Cox's ABC series Cougar Town has been suspended while the star deals with a "family matter," Usmagazine.com has confirmed.

"We can confirm production on Cougar Town has been temporarily shut down in order for Courteney to deal with a private family matter," ABC tells Us in a statement.

Cox, 45, headlines the freshman divorcee comedy as Jules Cobb, a single mom dating in her forties. Dawson's Creek alum Busy Philipps, Scrubs regular Christa Miller and Drew Carey's Ian Gomez also star.

Wed since 1999, Cox and husband David Arquette have one daughter, Coco, 5.
