Report Finds N.Y. Wrong-Way Crash Mom Smoked Pot When Kids Were in Bed

Fox News: State Police investigators said in a written report that a woman who killed seven people plus herself in a crash on the Taconic State Parkway was a regular marijuana user.

The report says Diane Schuler's husband told police his wife "smoked marijuana once in a while to relieve the stress of work and the kids."

Schuler's sister-in-law told police she "didn't believe in medicine and used marijuana to relax," usually smoking after her children went to bed.

Relatives of the crash victims got the report during a meeting with police and prosecutors, then made it available to reporters.

Schuler, her daughter and three of her nieces were killed when she drove the wrong way on the highway in July. Three men in the car she hit were also killed.

I hope to hell no one is suggesting a correlation. I’d let a secret stoner drive my kid around a million times before I let a secret drunk do it once.

Let’s be realistic here if this mom smoked pot “occasionally” and out of site of her children she wouldn’t be a druggie “Anonymous”, a druggie can’t wait to get the next fix and most of the time don’t care if the kids know. As I see it this story ignorantly links this woman’s occasional marijauna use to a crash. That’s like saying two nights ago I drank a couple beers before bed and that’s what caused my car crash today. Let’s get real folks. This woman didn’t look like a strung out druggie to me she looked like a happy mom with a couple of beautiful kids and nice husband. This was a tragedy for this family and my heart and prayers go out to them.

Diane Schuler’s husband went on media blitz rnat and raving that his wife was not responsible for the accident, somethingelse must have happen, she didn’t drink etc. All after the toxicology report. Now he admitts she “ocassionaly” used pot. Personally, I won’t trust a word that comes out of his mouth. She was more likely more than an “ocassionaly” pot use. What other drugs did she take? How much alochol did she really used? After all Mr Schuler publically claimed she didn’t drink or do drugs.

There was a liter of vodka found in the van. She was def drunk. The toxicology report says it all. There is surveillance of her stopping at a convenience store…she left all the children in the car alone while she went in to the store…sorry but I don’t believe a good mom would ever leave there kids unattended in a car. She was a drunk and the husband is a liar. He probably knew she was drunk and doesn’t want to get into trouble for knowing and letting the kids ride with her.

Wow really? is all i have to say. This article is written horribly. The fact that she drove the wrong way on a highway has nothing to do with marijuana whether she smoked it or not. This woman was just really stupid. People need to stop hating on cannabis and do some research. Learn the brilliant effects marijuana can have on the sick, the artistic, and the violent. Don’t let the American government/media fill your heads with this bull any more. Read some factual studies and stop the ignorance. The writer of this fodder actually links smoking marijuana to her idiotic driving. What?.
