I'm all for a taking care of ourselves, but seriously -- Thanksgiving is a holiday based on eating, so isn't it the one day in the entire year that you can just allow yourself to go nuts? The other 364 days we can criticize ourselves in the mirror, long for skinny jeans, say no to dessert and skip the bread and butter.
On Friday we can go back to pretending we love the elliptical machine. We can re-convince yourself that cottage cheese tastes good. And you can cut out the image of the too skinny model in your goal dress and put it on the fridge.
Just in case you are looking for it, with entirely no official authority, I hereby give you permission to take this one day to indulge. Go ahead and eat that brie appetizer! Put the extra stick of butter in the mashed potatoes! Have seconds -- maybe thirds! And just this once, try both pie options and don't ask for "slivers." Unbutton those pants, let the muffin top breathe and don't even attempt to go on that after dinner walk.
