Deal hunters, check out a new site!

woman on a computer looking for deals

Recession Mama Michele Ashamalla: A friend of mine checked out this site and thought it was right up my alley. He was right.

Tink O Matic searches Ebay, Oodle, Kijiji and Craigslist all at once and shows the results on a single page. It is free to use and you can use it to search for general stuff, cars, rentals, real estate and jobs -- and your search can be limited by item and geographical area. It is a pretty simplistic site, but I like that. I don't really want a website that performs a hundred different tasks. What it does, it appears to do well.

I did a few sample searches and really liked what I saw. I searched for a piece of hockey equipment for my son (not so easy to find in sunny California) and for some ribbon I'm using for invitations I'm making. I didn't find much on Craigslist, but it saved me the time I would have spent searching (and I definitely would have spent more time poking around on different sites). Also, it's interesting to see what's out there. The ribbon search turned up some cute cards on etsy.com that came up on Oodle, which isn't a site I generally check.

Not that I need them, but Christmas is just around the corner ...

Hi Michelle, Thanks for trying our site! Glad you found some nice ribbons. The real power of tinkomatic is in fact probably for your son’s hockey gear - or anything that’s hard to find: TinkOMatic allows you to save your searches, and then come back on a regular basis to see whether there is anything new - you do not have to retype any search when you come back: all the saved searches are remembered and automatically refreshed. That’s how I got my daughter’s Mountain Buggy stroller for $100… (it took me a good 2 weeks to get one at this price). We hope you’ll find many great deals via tinkomatic - and please let us know if you have any additional feedback. Best, -David
