We always knew our kids had artistic talent ...

holiday card made by kids

Sick of being forced to sell cheesecakes and wrapping paper? This innovative new fundraiser highlights artwork made by your very own pint-sized Picasso. Now THAT'S something we'd happily plunk down our money for!

Worldwise Education's Artwork for Education program allows students to create art that is showcased on high-quality greeting cards, featuring the student's name, age, and school printed on the back of the card.

Every student gets published, and every product shows how much you care about helping schools, as forty percent of every sale is paid directly to participating schools.

This provides schools added revenue while promoting the creative arts. Plus, it gives us something we're actually excited about buying.

A few years ago, our elementary school held an “art show” fundraiser for the victims of Hurricane Katrina. Students created paintings in art class, which were then displayed on the walls throughout the school. On a Saturday afternoon, parents and friends were invited in for a “reception,” where they could purchase their child’s artwork and take it home. (Any artwork still hanging at the end of the show was quietly “purchased” by the school’s PTA. That way, when kids returned to school on Monday, all of the artwork was “sold”.) All money raised was donated, and it was a very successful — and popular — event.

Be careful of the company your school uses. For the past few years my son’s elementary school had an art show/fundraiser in which the kids would create a themed art piece that would then be framed and available to purchase. Last year the company that provided this service took all the money raised and then filed bankruptcy. The school never saw a dime of the money which was supposed to help fund the school art program.

Rest assured SC Mom. Worldwise Education has worked with schools year after year who love our Artwork For Education program because it engages and empowers their kids through creativity. The best part is that it’s an easy way for schools to raise funds. And the program doesn’t end with the school fundraiser. We also select cards to sell through retail stores and online. No matter where a card is sold, the schools still raise money. So it’s an ongoing program with almost forty percent of the proceeds from card sets paid directly to the school!
