Look! It's an iPod case for your infant.

Earlier this year when Samsonite invited designers to develop new and convenient ways of traveling with their babies, Iranian designer Pouyan Mokhtaran created this wacky baby product: The Smart Baby Case pod.

Here's what it is: The pod case can be used for everything from transporting your baby through the mall to protecting her in disaster scenarios. It comes equipped with auto-rocking features, multiple safety breath doors, foam pads which surround the baby, an air purification system, and an LED screen with a light in the form of the Samsonite logo, which shows the quality of the air inside the pod.

And you'll be relieved of diaper duty. The pod even comes with a diaper changing function. The Auto Diaper wraps around the baby's naked butt and when it senses moisture, flushes the waste into a waste storage unit -- just empty the canister periodically.

I suppose the pod provides some sense of protection, but with all the biological benefits of touch and face-to-face contact babies need to develop, would the lack of sense stimulation and blatant isolation hinder his or her development?

Says Mokhtaran: "There is a bit of a misunderstanding in that this is not a device for growing children during their whole life, it is just a device which can provide a safe and healthy condition during two or three hours while you can`t change your baby or staying in some poor facilities or places during a trip or airport."
