The American Red Cross is pledging an initial $200,000 to assist communities impacted by this earthquake. Donate online or text "HAITI" to 90999 and a donation of $10 will be given automatically to the Red Cross to help with relief efforts, charged to your cell phone bill.
The Haiti Earthquake Relief Center is run by the Haitian Alliance, which has been working to make Haiti "green and literate" (including tree-planting efforts), and is coordinating collections and shipments of food, medicine, and temporary shelter (tents, blankets, etc.) to the millions of Haitians affected by the quake.
CARE is sending relief workers into the city of Port-au-Prince and needs funds to support its efforts. Suggested donations range from $50 to $1,000, but you can name your own amount if you prefer.

Oxfam is rushing in teams from around the region to respond to the situation to provide clean water, shelter, sanitation, and help people recover.
Operation USA is appealing for donations of funds from the public and corporate donations in bulk of health care materials, water purification supplies, and food supplements, which it will ship to the region from its base in the Port of Los Angeles. Save the Children has launched an emergency relief effort for Haiti. Donate to their fund to provide medical attention and clean water to children and families.
Soles4Souls is committing 100,000 pairs of new shoes to the victims of the Haiti earthquake. They are also partnering with other trusted organizations to send complete aid packages that include food, bottled water, medical supplies, tents, blankets, flashlights, and baby products.
